How often do you drive your Elantra purely for enjoyment?

Serioulsy, not, for five minutes on the way to work or school... I'm talking about, you don't have anything to do and just want to get in your Elantra and drive...

With gas prices like they are, I do this very rarely, which is kinda sad.

I go driving for fun 3-4 times a week. Traffic on our I-25 isn't too bad so I try zipping around in that for a while, and I also have some pretty sick mountain roads to go drive. They are like the ones you see in commercials for sports cars all windy and everything. it's baddass. I try to make sure that every time the road will let me I'm up over 100mph. I love to drive! :drive:

well, ive only put 500 miles on it since last november. except for the columbus meet. it only comes out if the weather is good ( no rain, or snow). and today looks like its gonna be one of those days :)

I'm in the car enough going to and from work/other places. I don't really get in the car just to get in the car. Maybe after I move and I live closer to work, I'll go for liesure drives, but right now I can get all the driving I want just by going through daily tasks.

Every night when it gets dark I take 30minutes just to chill out and drive. If I dont feel like driving than I go outside to the car and listen to some music...Wait, who voted never? Thats bull**** :mad:

I can say that at the end of a work day I can't wait to get in my Lantra, turn the music on and ride home. Usually I try to take the lantra out on joy rides during the weekend.....you know head out somewhere w/the windows down and cruise.

i try to drive it enjoyingly (is that a word?) all day while im at work...theres a few good roads that are fun to hit. when i first got the elantra, there is a turn that has an S in the road...when i first got it, i could hit the first turn at about 25 and come out of the 2nd one pushin 40...now im at 35 and a lil over 50 out of the 2nd one. its great. pizzas slide a bunch though. LOL

I drive my Elantra once a month, the weather has to be nice and I detail it before I take it out, and then I just cruise :drive: . Once I get home I detail it again.I THINK I HAVE A PROBLEM :eek:

I could walk to work everyday, but I choose to drive. I look forward to it every afternoon and evening. It's not purely for enjoyment, but I sure don't have to do it, I just love being in my car and wasting gas. I guess I'm just naughty. :)

I bought mine on November 1st of last year...I've put 16,500 miles on it.

There are some good roads in CO for sure. I do a sidejob in the mountains, so I def whip in and out of the canyons. Gotta love windy roads!

I don't do this too often anymore but I guess it's about once a month. I'll drive out to this farm road and push the car pretty hard through the twisties. There's this one hard left turn you're supposed to take at 15 mph. But it's slightly banked which helps. And since I can see way ahead I kinda drifted the car around the corner at 40 mph once. I pushed it hard enough for the back end to step out when I let off the gas and then I re-applied the gas to straighten it back out. That was fun.

93,000 miles on my car. When gas was cheaper, I'd drive around for fun a lot more often, I enjoy driving. Now it's just too damn expensive.

With all the driving i do, i just learned to enjoy what I do instead of actually taking it out specifically for pleasure.... St. louis to GA back to St. Louis in 18 hrs with stops :tongue: .... but once a month i take it out purely for pleasure

every time i drive, i enjoy it. even when im just cruisin. i really punch it on the highway (up until i see da cops), or i'll just cruise. i enjoy every minute of my car. :bowdown:

gas has not got anything to do with me driving my car or not just don't have the time. heres somthing to firgure out my previous vehicle got 10mpg and would hold 40 gallons of fuel let say I used 38 gallons a week at $2.509 a gallon how much would it save me if I drove the same number of miles with my elantra at 27mpg with gas costing me 2.229. that pays for the car it self!! Semi- trucks are horriable 5mpg 2- 100 gallon tanks 1000 miles cost .......... $501.80!!! compared to the elantra 1000 miles only cost at 27mpg gas at 2.229 only $82.56. you people should be able to enjoy these fine automobiles no matter what gas cost are. Granted I know that the elantra only weights 3klbs and comparing it to larger heavyer vehicles is like comparing apples to the oranges.

With the traffic and congestion in the NOVA area you had better enjoy spending time behind the wheel of your car! Fortunately I have mine modded just the way I like it and I enjoy every second driving it. And yes that does include traffic jams....

Traffic and gas prices keep me at bay...I'd say I get in and go maybe once or twice a year. Also don't wanna take the risk of having a potential accident when not necessary, i.e. some stupid kid in his mom's car out doing the same thing and has only been behind the wheel twice in his life and hits you in the rear....(happened to my bro once)

Traded a 2000 Z71 Sierra for my Elantra. My wife *****ed when I told her I
