: porsche carrera gt
2loud2k2xd 04-05-2005, 05:39 PM so, this is the second carrera gt we have got at work. this car is BAD @SS. $448,000.00. the first one was gt silver, this one is seal grey. porsche is only making 1200 total for sale all over the world. we (the dealership) have 6 more incoming. sergi federov had 2 on order, but with no hockey this year he cancelled the order. porsche was requiring a $50,000.00 deposit for the gt, to be eligable for a car.
this is a screamer, it comes with its own 7 piece $12,000 lugguage set. car cover, and seat bolsters(interchangable). all carbon fiber under belly pans from the front to the rear for drag reduction. all carbon fiber front and rear splitters. the interior is all c/f, including the seats, and the whole floor. the removable roof, also c/f. 50% of the body panels are c/f. in the engine bay, all c/f also. fully adjustable coilovers alll around. 14" ceramic rotors, 8 piston calipers. 19" rims in front, 20" rims in the rear. the clutch is tricky. different from any manual ive ever driven. ive driven gt3's and gt2's. neck snapping torgue and acceleration.
i will post more info as i remember it.
i am the new car delivery manager. i check in all cars, and detail them for customers. and YES, i drive them. i drove the carrera gt, not for long tho, but it was AWESOME. i pulled it sideways (a little) turning a corner behind the dealership. and damn, it was fun.
there is 12 pics of the carrera gt. interior, engine compartment, side view, and brakes.
ricerrx7 04-05-2005, 05:44 PM What's your employee discount?
SWortham 04-05-2005, 05:57 PM Geez, I'm sure that car is fun to drive. It sure handles well in Project Gotham Racing on the Xbox, lol.
I would say that it's not everyday you get a chance to drive a super car... but for you I guess it isn't too uncommon.
evan938 04-05-2005, 06:09 PM saw it at the detroit intl auto show. definately BAD ***! i get speechless when i see it. its amazing

SuperGLS 04-06-2005, 09:31 PM I've said this before, and here it is again, I'd love to drive any Porsche, even a 944 or 924.
The old 968 I like too. Any 911 Turbo would do as well.
This supercar one is ok, just too little Porsche'ness for me.
2loud2k2xd 04-06-2005, 09:45 PM ****, come to my work anytime super. we have gt3's the new turbo S cab, new 997 carreras, and boxster x, cayenne turbo's, and soon the new range rover sport (supercharged) i could get you into one for a drive

Next time I'm in Detroit I'll be there.
I think the 914 is my favorite one, although I don't like convertibles.
There is one I can't remember the number of, it has a flat trunk and back window, it's pretty different looking. Someone find me a pic and I'll be your best friend.
oregun 04-07-2005, 11:11 PM I think the 914 is my favorite one, although I don't like convertibles.
My second car was a porsche 914/6. I loved driving that thing. It need lots of TLC (read: I spent at least 2 hours underneath that thing every week to keep it running)
I have never been in a better handling car. Never. The center of gravity was 1.2 inches lower than the 911 at the time and it was mid engine. I put a wide body kit on it and stuffed on some 911 wheels and tires.
I lost all the pictures of it along with my first car. Very sad.
2loud2k2xd 11-09-2005, 07:08 PM ok guys, this is the 4th porsche carrera gt we have received at the dealership for delivery. this one, not like the other 3 (which were all silver) is black. OMG!!!! i now like the color black. ive also seen a red and a yellow gt as well. but i would take any color. i have a few more pics, just click on the links below. i also have a SOUND clip of the exhaust. :D i actually was able to put a few miles on this one. i opened it up in first. holy ish. 510hp and this thing really feels like it. nothing like doing 90 in 2nd gear.
anyways, check out the pics and make sure you click on the exhaust clip i have as well.
enjoy guys, this one is still for sale. 448,000.00

2loud2k2xd 11-09-2005, 07:20 PM ive driven 4 of these carrera gt's, also driven a 911 turbo S cab, gt3's, gt 2's, the new porsche CAYMEN, cayenne turbo's, range rover supercharged, range rover sport supercharged, audi S4's, audi RS6's. the carrera gt was the best one out of them all. this is why i dont mind my slow hyundai. i drive fast cars at work alot.
ArunSenior04 11-09-2005, 07:28 PM How do you drive those Dave?!?! I would be too afraid to drive that car. I would be too worried abotu getting into an accident and kissing my *** goodbye.

VERY CAREFULLY!!l lol. i have job security at my work. i personally know the owner and the gm's. anyways, there is only a few people allowed to drive the carrera gt's when they come in off the truck. myself, the owner (if he wants, but he never has. the porsche tech, and the salesman. i am the only one who looks over the vehicle before signing my name on the invoice, and im the only one who details the car. i wish i had a pic of the car after i detailed it. omg, the car looked like a mirror. shiny:D
today it rained in the morning and the roads were wet. well, i opened it up and got sideways a bit after i gassed it up (57.00 for a fill-up). that was fun. shhh, dont tell anyone. lol

me too, im so f'n jealouse!!!!!!! you can now say you have driven a true supercar..wile the rest of us sit on our xboxs and ps2's and only wish...just hope someone comes in one day with an enzo
robs02elantra 11-10-2005, 12:08 AM I love the outside of that car, but I like the inside less than other porsches.. the location of the gearstick in relation to the seat, the c/f (but that's just a personal taste thing, where the gearstick is an awkward placement thing...well at least to me). Anyway, the car looks rediculously sexy, and I'm sure that if I took it for a drive I would change my tune.
For when I make my first billion, can I get woodgrain instead of c/f?
haha, sure, like I'll ever have one. Thanks for letting me dream though.
2loud2k2xd 11-10-2005, 06:44 AM no woodgrain instead of c/f. the whole car is made from c/f and kevlar (all interior, under car, and all body panels). and the gearshift is in the optimum spot for shifting. you sit buckeled in a race seat. no leaning back. and the stick is right there. its sooo much fun to drive. and it takes me about 4hrs to detail. i wax all the interior c/f, and front/rear c/f that i can reach.
what do you guys think about the sound clip of the exhaust? evan meet me up here for the woodward dream cruise. we had a promotional carrera gt. he heard it up close when the salesman redlined it in first. this thing is loud and mean. man i love my job.
one time i was in a lease return 911 turbo S cab and another tech was driving an older 911 turbo, well we ran them on woodward. he beat me because i bogged it off the line, but i soon caught up to him.
