Why 19? According to your profile your 18...
Here legal drinking age is 18 but as heard in a song before:

Quebec, where the legal drinking age is just a suggestion.

Ain't that the truth!! My sister was drinking in bars in Quebec since she was 14. We always joked that if you can reach the bar, they'd serve you.

i will be driving the xd, i think it will be a 10 hr drive.
and i will be there for pleasure :)
i will be driving alone and meeting someone in the quebec area (Ste-Agathe-des-Monts).
what am i into besides cars and sounds....chicks :)
yeah evan, im gonna break my rule of not going back to canada, but it will be worth it.

i may also be back there on may 14, and the 15.

I noticed from your pic on car domain a nice phone cord type going down your windshield. Careful with radar detectors as they are illegal here... So you're meeting "someone" in Ste-agathe, other passion related? (ie. chiicks) :)

Are you actually coming to Montreal or staying in Ste-agathe?

KeWLKaT

where's st-agathe anyways?

yeah, i dont know where anything is in canada. but i know i have about a 10 hr drive ahead of me. and the radar will be stowed in the glove box. what will they do if i get caught with it on? oh well, i may leave at home if that bad. i will be in the ste agathe area.

they will confiscate it and give you a ticket... and remember, FRENCH Canadians HATE the english speaking ones, and they hate Americans even more, the guy might be even more pissed if he saw your U.S. driver's permit...

anyhow, good luck in canada! just call me if u need backup!!! ;)

come on, now you guys are starting to put a little fear in me. the last time i went to canada with some friends, we got strip searched. i mean naked!! i didnt like that at all. i dont do drugs or dring. they profiled us. but i wasnt worried. we laughed at them and the canine dog jumping around my car. maby that had something to do with it.
this time its different. i will be by myself. i just dont want a dog or the border patroll tearing up my xd. F' that. ill start to go nuts

redgum

Since you are a tourist, I doubt that they would confiscate it but definitely a warning and I suggest you avoid using it. You can usually drive 20% more then limit without hassle. If you dont mind a rare but nonetheless possible small speeding fine (like 130$) you can strech it easily to 129 kph on the highway. Follow traffic and you're fine.

Kewlkat does not speak for the majority. The world is made up of all sorts of people and that's true anywhere you go. Quebecers dont hate americans by any means, not sure where Kewlkat got that feeling but I have been working with many anglophones in Montreal and for tourists its not an issue. Hatred is a big word and if something is true about montreal is its multi-ethnicity and tolerance. There is however less tolerance towards people who have lived in montreal for 50 years and never bothered to learn a word of french...

as long as you stay cool, it will be cool. don't worry, just try to act nicely with the retarded Canadian border po-lice.

i think ill be ok. i will leave the radar at home, no worries. and i will keep up with traffic, i just dont want to go mph instead of kph. lol
go flying by everyone thinking their slow drivers. :)

KeWLKaT

all i have to say is the candaian people love hyundais. i must have seen about a hundred cars on my way there, and while i was in ste-agathe. seen a few ricers in town also. i have to say that the drivers on the 401 drive fast. i was going 90mph/140kph, and i was still getting passed. so i made it in 9 hrs 20 minutes. not bad. if there is anything happening there on the weekend of may 14th and the 15th, let me know cause ill be back up there.
kewlkat, sorry about the antenna. maby this next time i can get it to ya. why dont you order it and ship to my address. this might be easier. lmk.

04-28-2005, 01:18 AM
ey?

hahaha...when me and my freind went to canada, we always heard of canadians saying "eh". so when we got to the bars, we played a game, where everytime we heard someone say "eh" slap your hand on the bar. last one buys drinks. well, i was payin for drinks caus she had no $ so that didnt work well, but shes gonna owe me next time we go up. my friggin hand hurt at the end of the night. we were tryin so hard not to laugh everytime they said "eh" LOL

yeah, i will be moving to ste-agathe in about a year or less. its not that bad of a drive, 9 1/4 hrs. no more modding for me. im done:( only had a body kit and suspension left, but oh well.
time to set my goals on the bigger picture, my g/f :)

redgum
04-28-2005, 07:07 PM
suspension is a good idea for our crappy road. For the same reason, the kit isn't. So moving here for the g/f only or work is also bringing you here?

2loud2k2xd
04-28-2005, 07:12 PM
only for the g/f. i dont want to ask her to move here away from her family. suspension will get done later, but the new 18's are almost here. that will be interesting. 18's on some of the roads out there and no spare tire:(
this is still 9 months to a year away. and ive seen many dealerships out there to possibly work at. if not, i can always go back to work as a chef. just have to learn french.

redgum
04-28-2005, 07:31 PM
Interesting. There is a saying in french that goes like this:

Qui prend mari prend pays, basically means, she who weds, weds the country. I guess in your case it's the other way around.

Im sure you wont have problems getting a job and as long as it's not customer facing you will be able to do so in english only. Of course, if you plan to stay for awhile, getting to know the language will give you an edge.

KeWLKaT
04-28-2005, 11:43 PM
Good luck!!!

:) hehe you will help us mod our cars :D

French is not that hard to learn, not that I speak it or anything but it's always easier to learn when you have a beautiful girl teaching you. ;)

Good luck....

KeWLKaT
04-28-2005, 11:59 PM
Bleh. French is very easy. (except for verbs)

I speak/write English, French, Spanish, Armenian, and I speak some Arab...

Languages are a cool thing to learn, like he said ^^^^ with a girl by you, even easier!!!

2loud2k2xd
04-29-2005, 06:55 PM
im going to get a cd to learn french, lol. i hope it helps out.
and ill deffinately help you all out up there on mods. no problem. damn, 2 weeks to go and i cant wait. then i will also be going back there for memorial day weekend. the end of may. damn, ill pass my 60k bumper warranty:( on that trip. oh well, no big deal.
this is the thing, i am a f'n nut when it comes to my xd. now, i really dont care anymore about modding. go figure, it took a good woman to change my thinking. she is worth it tho.

evan938
04-29-2005, 07:17 PM
how the hell did you meet a girl 9 hours away? internet? or did you meet her then she moved up there?

2loud2k2xd
04-29-2005, 07:54 PM
ive known her for about 6 months. she moved.

evan938
04-29-2005, 08:13 PM
ah

well g/l then

so whats up w/ HIN next month? wanna go?

2loud2k2xd
04-29-2005, 08:28 PM
thx man.
i may fly her out here then. and then i may go to the six flags meet/show. if i had my 18's and bodykit on, i would have my ride in there (hin).

evan938
04-29-2005, 08:35 PM
well remember, the day of the wyandot lake show is the same day of HIN. i might go in the morning to check it out since cleveland is only 2 hours away, and leave by like 2 to get to HIN on time

KeWLKaT
04-30-2005, 12:02 AM
HAHAHA

I just thought of it: you will have to get used to kilometers and the metric system, also road signs in french, aswell as some insults!

2loud2k2xd
04-30-2005, 12:07 AM
i know, i was doing 90mph(140kph) on the 401, and i was still getting passed. and the .89 for a litre, a little different, but ill get used to it. ill be looking at a few dealerships when im there for work. also, houses are pretty cheap, compared to where i live.

KeWLKaT
04-30-2005, 12:16 AM
yea, but those are the deep countries... st-agathe...

try the suburbs around montreal, disgustingly huge prices...

btw, gas used to be 59c a litre 4 years ago (HAHAH! litre is the canadian english, instead of american liter... its in you already ;))

2loud2k2xd
04-30-2005, 12:24 AM
im taking french lessons. im trying to surprise her by learning a little by the 14th weekend. hoping i can say a few sentences at least. i know there are at least 14 dealerships from ste-agathe to the montreal area. i passed them. if not, i can make more money as a chef, just no time for anything.

redgum
04-30-2005, 12:47 AM
