What are the widest 17's that anybody has used on there cars? I am currently running a 215-45-17, but I want to go wider. I would like to run either a 235 or a 245. Check y'all later.

235, 245 will need some fender rolling, you'll never clear the strut housing to the inside fender. I know of some, Elantra2.001 being one of them, that had 225/45/17 and they rubbed a bit (unsure of wheel offset). If you had a coilover like the Tein or Quest, you'd have more clearance from the strut housing, but I would bet you'd still need fender rolling. You could make a template of the tire width and see how it fits up inside taking into account the suspension travel.

225's are an extremely tight fit... you may be able to make them work by setting negative camber, rolling the fender, and perhaps adding spacers to avoid hitting the strut. Like Steve said, Elantra2.001 had some extra clearance on the strut side because of the coilovers.
But I wouldn't try anything wider than 215mm on a 7" wide wheel. You can mount 225's on the wheel, but the tires will tend to squirm a little more. 225/45-17's are best suited to 17x7.5" wheels.

Wow I can just imagine how much fun it would be to water ski with 235 of 245!
Sorry for the sarcasm but imho too wide is unsafe unless you've got some major suspension upgrade and even then the car wont wheight more... Maybe its just me and im a little chicken but once you've hydroplaned across 6 lanes wide within 300 feet you kinda get like that.
