what color wheels on a rally red XD

I would like to get a set of clean 5 spoke 16 or 17" rims for my XD but have no idea what color to get as I have never had a non black car. Black car = chrome rims. I Do NOT want to look ricey 4 sure.

Silver always looks good. I also like gunmetal w/ a polished lip. But it all comes down to taste. I agree about the chrome... it just doesn't belong on the car.

I say silver, but it also depends on what you're going to do to your car. White rims could look good on it too, but you'd want to have some mods done (lowering, spoiler, etc.) before I'd recommend that.

I know someone who had a red Civic with white wheels... it didn't look bad but after the fact we agreed that silver would've looked better. (Now he has a BMW, problem solved. ;) )

I'm one of the few people here who will tell you CHROME all the way! Look at hatchetman's car. It's a red XD hatch with Chrome wheels and looks great.

You should Get some Gold Rims...like the BBS off of the STI...Gold looks Awsome on Red cars...It stands out and looks crazy...I'd go with the Gold...Thinkin' of gettin' the Gold Volk TE37s for my Black Elantra...

One of the members of our local club has white.... hard to keep clean.. but when clean.. looks sharp! .. I might go white next summer... you never know :)... Oh here is a pic

The trick to keeping them clean.. clean them 3 times a week!... thats how i did it back when I had whites

it just all depends on your car color. like FastKingCab said black car=chrome rims. thats how it always is. but its also better to do what you think looks good. yeah its nice to have advice everyonce in awhile but remember one thing it your car not ours, so do what you think looks good.

I like silver on red, although chrome would not look that bad either. If you want real rice...then put some yellow wheels on it! :D

LOL right Volk TE37's LOL I'd pay more for the rims than I did the car :abovelol: and I would still need tires. I priced the Volk/ Rays TE37's for my turbo truck and they where $975.00 each for 17x9.5" +shipping from japan and didn't include tires.

However if you know a Knock off that looks the same but perhaps weighs a little more than 4.5lbs and costs alot less than $4,250.00 for a set of 4 I would do it in a second.

You probably need to look into american dealers of Volk...Also you should look into trying to find a wholesale dealer...i can get a set W/O tires for $2,085 but then again your trying to get rims for a truck so the rims have to be built a little stronger and they need to be differently balanced so it probably still cost you a little more...

they where 6 lug and where rated for more weight than most of the other TE37's I saw listed in the app. list.

so thats $2,085.00 for a set of TE37's on the Elantra? :EEK: like I said :eek:

I tend to get rims that match the theme of my car. I really really wanted chrome, chrome rims, accents, etc, but I decided against it, ended up changing my whole theme and am grateful I didn't buy chromie rims because of it. :) Whatever you do is good, as long as YOU like it. YOU have to be happy with it, not make anyone else happy.

Gunmetal or silver if you want to be "subtle but noticable". Chrome is just too bling bling for me.
