This always happens, try to do one thing and break another :hand:  . I tried, not tried did install my new Kspec intake cam sprocket. I then had the big idea to pull off the intake manifold to bore it(you know more air in). So here I go taking it off not knowing it was going to be that hard since my car is very low and I have to get to the bolts in the back (big hands) first problem. I finally got it off. Bored the holes bigger now trying to reinstall it I need to check the engine timing and broke the tool in the engine (Damn  ). Now I have to open up the engine to get that piece out because it broke in side the first spark plug hole. It always happens I fix one thing and mess up another :( . I can't wait to run my baby when I get this peice out from my engine. I do hope my plug wires and new plugs come in to day so can do every thing and be done with it. Damn  damn  damn
yeah, thats the way things work isn't it? Try to fix one thing and break another?
Don't worry though, the motor comes apart really easily
shawn :)

first of all, what fell into the spark plug hole ?
if it is made of metal, you can use a telescoping magnet to remove it.
they sell them at the autoparts store for $ 5. some screw drivers have that magnetic telescope tip that comes out of it, you can use that the fish around in the cylinder through the spark plug hole without having to tear the engine apart... if it fit into the spark plug hole, you should be able to fish it out of the same hole..
I hope you read this before you tear your motor apart ! LOL

Well I broke a piston. We found parts of the tool we used to ensure the 1st cylinder was in TPC. So now I need a new first piston. Good thing though I don't know how but found out my engine came with a overbored cylinder not the standard. it was not the standard size. Atleaset thats what the Hyu8ndai Europe tells me. Does all ElantraXDs come with 139HP? Hmmmm Please answer

I dont even want to know how you broke a piston...
i dont know how having an overbored cylinder would be a good thing either.
hyundai might be blowing smoke at you in hopes that they can charge you more for one reason or another.

No my pistons came oversized 0.25mm. Some people bore the cylinders to put bigger pistons in it. Mine came like that. I bought it from the daeler with 139HP and now I know why.

I dont think you picked up any extra hp off of that. im sure my car had a similar hp rating when I bought it.

I don't know man I just found that out. I hae the part number for my car from the Hyndai Europe and it is not the same as the standard OEM piston. But it is an OEM part number for the bigger pistons. They got it from my VIN#

you can replace the whole block with a standard 2.0L block if you want.
lol
so you already blew up the motor huh ?
damn that sucks.

I have some already so I , but I left the camera in the shop. I will post some about Sunday if I am done with all installations. I have to be though if I'm gonna make it to the races. I deffinite ly gonna take the body kit off if I do race though Can't tear that up.
Man I hate not having my baby. :( :hand: My mechanic says he may be able to fabricate a dual Ex. system for me.
I also hope my plug wires are here tomorrow so I can have it all done on Friday.

DO NOT INSTALL A DUAL EXHAUST ON YOUR XD ...
everybody who knows anything about performance will tell you that you will not gain any power by installing a dual exhaust on a single exhaust pipe engine setup ...
also, that will add unwanted weight to the car....

I noticed that on another tread , but they mentioned using smaller pipes after the joint. the kit just looks empty with the slot for a second exhaust and nothing there.
What do you think I will gain from boring the manifold larger? I bored the section where it connects to the head.

you can bore the Throttle Body opening and match it up to a BBTB .... :)
slightly more power is about it :)

I have the BBTB so I think the only thing is the gasket is not as big so if I bore the manifold opening for the Trottle body I have 1mm of gasket floating in air.
