You're comparing apples to oranges here. The Alero has a bunch more mods but is also a heavier car so this really means nothing

I run 15.1 with I/H/E and horrible traction. He has extra TB, IM. Although I want to see that 14 second slip too :)

He runs on his street tires with 18 inch rims, so no he doesnt run slicks. If he had slicks he would run lower 14's with his mods, Trust me I owned a Alero for 1 year so I know the car very well.

Now lets get back on topic. I think if he cant prove that he can run 14's then Everyone is gonna have a hard time believing him, but it is completly possible that he can I am not saying he cant.

I'm sorry but I don't see it being possible to get into 14s at 89mph on a FWD car with street tires. It kind of goes against physics and racing laws... No matter what you say, I call it bullsh*t. I believe that he can run 14s, but there is something very shady about his trap speed and 60' times for street tires. To be in low 14s he would need to have 94mph for his trap speed and I don't see how he'd be able to get extra 4-5mph out of nowhere to run low 14s.

And back to our guy, it's very possible that he's running 14s. As I told you before, I run 15.1 with I/H/E and bad traction because of the alignment(very negative camber).
With BBTB and ported IM I will be in 14s all day long :)

yea that slip definately looks like the alero on the left side and something rear wheel drive or with slicks on the right. but the number on the car in the picture and the slip match what kind of gearing do those things have?

odessit, 2.1 60' times are completely doable on street tires in a FWD car.

the fact is that most of us are just bad at driving (me especially). or we have a bad suspension setup.

judging by 60' times, I'd say the other lane was someone who wanted to do a burnout with their street tires to look cool.

The alero definetely is not a BS claim (pictures, timeslips, what else do you need?)

other claims in this thread do need to be verified.

I'm not saying that those times are not doable, but not on the street tires at that trap speed. I know those cars are capapable of getting into 14s especially with the mods that he's done, but I've raced more than anyone else on this website and spent way too much time at the drag strips, so I can say what's true and what's bullcrap!

At 89mph you cannot be in 14s with street tires and have 2.1 60' time. It's simply impossible. I'm 99.999% sure that run was made on slicks; or going up the hill....
another theory is that he slowed down before he finished race, but that would be retarded.

And stop bashing that guy. 14s on N/A XD is also very doable!

Well, I feel that anything is possible. There are so many factors that can affect how your car runs aside from just the mods. There are track conditions, which are almost always disregarded, and there is the driver's skill too. Here is something that might help people to understand. Take well-known magazines such as "Car-and-Driver" and "Mototrend" for example. In almost every issue, those people are testing cars in almost every aspect, including 1/4 mile. If you look at the 1/4 mile ETs published in the mag, and then look at the 1/4 ET of someone at the track with you, I GAURANTEE they will be different (assume both cars are stock). Why is that? Well, that's driver skill...

Ok, well back to the main point, I agree with Ford, let's see those pics! If Evolantra really did do 14.9, then great! At least it's nice to know that we all to have that chance! If it's a lie, then so be it, he'll get spanked by cars that do go that fast.

Actually Kewlkat, if you look closely, most of the cars that blew their motors were on the "cars that beat me" list. Also, it appears to me that half of this thread was the debate over his 14.93 run. Evolantra stated that he had only done that once, and that he was running consistent at 15.6. IMO an Elantra GT could do this too (hello...EXD??). To me, there is a difference between getting beaten, and getting "owned" as you say. It is very possible that the Elantra GT beat him by .1 or .2 ("winning is winning" ...that quote fits in great here lol). Getting owned, imo, is like getting rocked by 2 secs or more.

I kind of find it funny but I hang out at a drag strip just about every Thursday...I hang out with people that do alot of stupid things to they're cars...my friend with the GS-R...he decided to port out is Headers...and His CAT...and even his stock piping...strange kid...but that erased all of his back pressure and he burn't up his valves and then actually bent 3 of them when he was racing me the second time...

The RX-7 was strickly for racing...the guy that owned it has gone through Rotories Like we go through tires...

And the kid with the Del Sol didn't blow his motor racing me...he did it on his way to school tryin' to race a Comaro...but yeah I know...I wasn't involved...
He was runin' a 125 shot NX bottle on a stock motor...and he was on his 3rd refill...he was askin' for it...but yeah...
