I'm seriously looking at getting the PZero Nero in 215/45-17. I don't have any experience with Pirelli. I like that the treadwear is high and that they are asymmetrical...don't have to worry about that directional crap! Any one hear anything about these tires or Pirelli?

Are you looking at the P Zero Nero or P Zero Nero M&S? The P Zero Nero has treadwear of 220. The M&S is 400.

I haven't tried them myself, but I wouldn't expect the M&S to handle the twisties too well. But if you need an all-season tire it would be reasonable. Personally, I like the crisp feel you get from a stiff-sidewalled tire and the Toyo Proxes 4 would be one of your best all-season options in that respect.

M&S. I'm just tired of replacing tires every 12 months. That's just higher risk of having the tire shop scratch my wheels.

Depends what compromise you want, based on what you said (asymetrical, high wear) there is not a lot of choice that meet your req. There is also Kumho ASX which are much cheaper then Pirelli and are asymetrical. I have Proxes 4 and love them, UTQG 300-aa-a but they are left/right... High treadwear = less adherance....

Yeah, I know the feeling... but maybe you should find a tire shop you can trust. There are some shops that'll take a little more pride in their work and balance tires up to 160 mph, and just be more thorough in general. I haven't found one yet, haha. But I've heard they're out there.

You could try the Pirelli's but they're probably going to be much mushier in response to steering input just like the 215/45-17 Kumho ASX tires I used to have.
