I just bought a Beta II for $200 from LKQ. I pick it up tomorrow. It comes with the IM. It has 11k miles on it. P&P Head and IM soon to come. I will now have to dyno the car. Since I cannot find a dynojet I will have to use some other dyno. But I will use the same dyno after the mods so it will prove the increase for the P&P'd head. I will not do one for the IM since they have already been done and we know what that gains.
sweet! 50 pick up charge isn't it? I got mine with 13k for 295 shipped. I love LKQ I get all my engines from them.
shawn :)

no pickup charge. It was $212 with tax. They have a yard in Belleville which is 5 minutes from my house. At least he didn't tell me about any pickup charge.

actually, no one has a dyno of a ported IM.
to really see gains, you'll need to cut it apart, port it and then weld it all together....
might be cheaper to fab a new manifold

hmm, I thought we were pretty solid on 5hp for port IM.

that dyno claim is with just the last 2" of the runner ported.
here's a picture of what it looks like when you really "port" a manifold
(before and after shown)
you can see its been cut in half midway through the runner and re-welded if you look closely

Ford says 5-6 HP... I would almost trust him if he said he could walk on water...

Head porting and polishing, along with a valve job is a next year kind of thing for me.
Most likely scenario: Elantra hits 100k, I replace current motor and trans with heavily built up N/A motor/trans
