Here are a few quick happy snaps I took over the weekend, it's an 04 Elantra with an Astrel Bodykit and an M&S Grill, there are a few other things done to it as well. Let me know what you think.

Looks really nice! The only thing I would change is that I would add another layer of mesh behind the grille, but that's just me...

hotness! I usually don't like chrome on Elantras, but on your all-black car it stands out nicely. I covet the lipkit and sidemarkers. You might look into clearing the amber lens out of the turn markers in your headlights and replacing the bulbs with silver chrome units (http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm) to keep it clean an' legal.

Good idea on the silver bulbs, that would get rid of the amber showing through my clear indicators. Do you know which ones will fit?

I put the 'H" emblem on because I am proud to be a Hyundai driver, I have copped quite a bit over the years from friends etc. but with patience and persistance gradually they have all come over to my side and they love my new ride! Previously I had a 2000 model elantra and then a 2000 model Tiburon (called a coupe over here).

I was never a really big fan of chrome but once it was held up against my car it contrasted so well with the black that I just couldn't say no.

Yep, that's a white Ford Festiva. It's my girlfriend's car, she spent the weekend at my place to recover from having her wisdom teeth out. She has the puffiest cheeks I have ever seen at the moment, my arm is black and blue from accidentally making a comment about her storing nuts in there for the winter ;)

Wow, that is a really nice XD2. Did you get the Astrel kit put on when you bought it? I'm jealous of the way you Aussie guys get the cooperation from Hyundai and Astrel.

Keep up the good work. Usually I never like all of what someone has done with their car, but yours is an exception, I like everything.

Thanks Super, it's comments like those that make what I do to my car worthwhile. I had the dealer put the bodykit on for me, I managed to haggle with them to have it included along with a few other bits and pieces.

Follow that link I sent you (or pick them up anywhere; they have awesome prices, but I don't know about shipping to down undah), and you're looking for 1156 bulbs. The biggest trick involves pulling that amber lens out; you've gotta bake the headlight in an oven. Carbonman wrote a helpful DIY (http://www.elantraxd.com/DIY/headlight.php) on that subject. Well the M&S symbol deosn't come pre-attached to the grilll, I just put a Hyundai symbol on instead of the M&S one.

That is one of the best black Elantra liftback i have ever seen. That grill is excellent! I dont mind the Hyundai Logo on the grill over the M & S logo.

How does it sound?

very nice! I like everything about it... even the different shifter knob. Is that the standard one for the XD2 in Aus?

It has a nice deep note to it, I would record it for you but I don't have anything to record with sorry :(

The gear knob is from a nissan maxima, do a search for it on ebay and you will find a few people selling them. The thread is the same so it just screws right on.

looks great. i think it is wierd however with the steering wheel on the opposite side the H pattern for the transmission still remains the same. i would think that would be reversed too.
