Wassup everyone. Let me get straight to the point. i've been looking for headers and exhaust that will fit into my 05 elantra GLS. but all i've been able to find is the KDM manufactors. such as shark racing, k-spec etc etc. but the price is steep. well im lookin for a 4-1 header. that might be the cause. by the way i dont want to put in an OBX header. so dont suggest. haha. and with the exhaust issue, most companies dont make exhaust for my car. (greddy, borla you get the idea.) i was wondering if it were possible to custom fit say a borla exhaust made for a tiburon (the 4cyl) onto my elantra. and if n e one else had a cheaper price for a shark racing 4-1 header. thanks for the feedback.

Depending on what tiburon you are talking about there headers are a direct swap.

If you are interested in the borla, they are getting a group buy ready at http://www.newtiburon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39613&page=1&pp=25. There's about 20 people in and theres another 5 % discount if 25 people want it. It's only 30.00 for shipping. I forget the price (I think 499?) so you will have to pm the person running it.

i did sum specification research on the 05 elantra with the 05 tib and 04 tib. the length on the elantra is 178.1" and the tib was 173"
Height 56.1" 52.4" 52.3"
Width 67.9" 69.3" 69.3"
i dont know if that information would be helpful. a little clueless with this, i figure since i have a longer body and the engine spec from the 4 cyln tib is close to same i could fit the exhaust system onto my elantra.

you could have a very nice custom exhaust for that price

do not waste your money on a dual exhaust thats gong to slow you down and that you'll have to hack and modify.

the hotshot header is also a 4-1 and can be found relatively cheap if you hunt the right places

Why wouldn't you want to do an OBX header. I have one on my 03 and it works great. For the price it is a pretty good gain in power IMO. Just get a custom exhaust at a shop by your house you don't need to buy a kit. I had one welded up for $250 with no cats. Best part is I have not gotten a CEL from my header in close to 15k miles because the shop I had my exhaust done at welded in an o2 bung. That is my suggestion.

How is that? Without at SIM you would have to get a cel

Because I am special. I really have no idea. I honestly am the only one that I know of with a working no cat, and OBX header setup. I have both primary and secondary o2 sensors hooked up. I run a little rich that is the only issue that I have with it.

All beta II's run rich. Are you saying richer than rich? lol

I might take and have autozone hook up an OBDII tester to make sure your bulb isn't burn out. That is very very very very odd you wouldn't have a cell. Others have run with no cats on the OBX and gotten a cel immediately (50 miles or so).

Richer then rich. I get black smoke out my exhaust, and my mom smells gas pretty good when she is behing me in her car. Right when I hooked the header up I got a CEL. Maybe a week or two later I got my exhaust welded on, and I had a CEL. Got home that afternoon from work I disconnected the negative on the battery for 30 minutes or so. Once I hooked it back up I haven't seen a CEL since.

I have been running the OBX 4-2-1 header for over a year. I never get a CEL. I have a cat AFTER the 2nd o2 sensor but nothing between them, and i know my CEL works cause when I turn my key one click all the lights on the dash come on and stuff

yeup...hyundai tuned our cars pretty rich...it's probbly safer that way for them and their "warranty".

our exhaust for the elantra should be done in a few...just waiting to finish the test fit
