SO here is my Flame I sell this guy a set of airbags for a VW Jetta. he pays for them right away and I shipped them out.
So Then after 2 weeks he decides, that without contacting me 1st he will do a chargeback on his credit card, so I email him to ask whats up. So no answer . Now I just went ahead and called him a thief ;) IMO he is a thief. anyway. I am out $130 and a set of airbags. According to his " mechanic" the air bags are stolen  So I asked him how can the " mechanic" determin that without the VIN# this is the ebay Dispute

I do have the need to prove because I am not a thief, I still think you should have contacted me in
the 1st place, Also I lost $17 to have them shipped to you, and then $10 on top of that because of
the paypal dispute, There was nothing wrong with the Item, I also like to know, How exactly did your
"mechanics" determined that the airbag was stolen? I did sent you pictures of the car and VIN# plus
my address to your Email. if you would have contacted me I would have refunded you the $

Please give me your address. I will mail
the airbags tomorrow. I have no need to prove your bags are
stolen - the mechanics have given me their professional opinion.

Greetings. In fact I did pay the seller for the airbags. However, when they arrived, two independent
mechanics told me that these appear stolen. Selling stolen property is a crime, and I will return the
airbags to the seller. In fact, the seller's behavior has been intimidating and threatening - by
calling me a "thief" and threatening to call the police, I feel unsafe.

Dear eBAY,

Greetings. I did pay for this item with
my American Express. However, after the
items arrived I have suspicion that they
are stolen property. Therefore, I am returning the airbags
to the owner and have contacted my Credit Card to dispute the purchase. Of note, the seller of the
airbags has been rude and unprofessional to me, calling me a thief. I feel my actions have nothing
but reasonable.

Regards,
Gerald

What an *******. How the hell would his 'professional mechanics' (lame) be able tell if they were stolen. If anything, all they would be able to tell is that they were pulled from another car - which they were (legitimately). Like I said, what an ignorant *******.

How can this be a true statement??

Yea, lol. 'I feel unsafe because he might call the police on me because I have things in my posession I have not paid for.'

And if anyone is phsycally intimidated and threatened by an email - they should be beat down out on general life principles.

I betcha those 'professional mechanics' are more than willing to sell and install their own VW airbags to this chump at a higher price.

Sorry ilanpro :(

So if someone does a bank transfer from their bank to my paypal account, and then I do a transfer from paypal to my bank, can they still somehow get their money back from me at their whim ?

nope. bank transfers are money in the bank (har har). Credit card payments are far less of a sure thing.

because credit card companies issue fraud gaurantees and stuff, they can take the money back. When I got ripped off on Motegi wheels I bought on ebay about 2 years ago, paypal wouldn't do ****. First Ebay said wait 30 days. Then paypal said it was past 30 days, there was nothing they could do. So I said F you and called discover. They took the charge right off my card (probably at paypal's expense, who then passed it on to the seller who robbed me).

If you would have paid him via a bank transfer, you would not have been able to take your money back, is that correct?

The key phrase he gave you is "appear stolen" He accused you of selling stolen goods soley based on an opinion of an appearance. I would push for the refund of your shipping money. Did you disclaim in the as these came from a junked car?

He probably found that they wouldn't fit his car or something and figured you wouldn't take them back if he told you the truth. Hence, he made up the whole thing because it's an excuse that he doesn't really have to prove. I'd give him your phone number, tell him to call the cops and have them call you. Who is this guy? He sounds like an old man with nothing better to do than kick up **** for no reason.
