These aren't quite the pictures I wanted to take today. Anyways, I had to go to the Chriopractor to pick up a list of dates I was there so I can submit it for wage compensation from the accident I had last October (I was just released). Well I'm about to pull into the parking lot, it's raining, I have bald tires in the front, and I'm making a left across traffic (which is stopped in the left lane) and I didn't see the cab until i saw his lights 10 feet away. I slam on my breaks, he slams on his and swerves to the right. The 2 second process gave me a pretty clean shave. I saw my bumper fly off and couldn't help but laugh my *** off. No injuries, except the undetermined expense to my wallet. Damn! I got some **** luck! I think it can be fixed rather easily. Nothing that I can't handle. Now just to price all the parts. If I only had the new tires on the front....well....bad alignment kept me from doing that. And the sidemarkers I just finished installing yesterday and both fenders looked buckled...not to mention the hood and brand new grille.

Damn that sucks. At least you're ok. A replacement bumber for that kit shouldn't cost that much, and headlights/sidemarkers can be found on ebay. Good luck.

Maybe I'll get an OEM GT bumper and add a lip to it. At least that way it won't be as low....I always had a problem scraping the front.

Damn, that sucks. Too bad. Glad to see you can laugh about it... I felt the same way when I scraped up my front lip against a curb for the final time.

I was heading east on a four lane road. I stopped to turn left(north) after the traffic in the left westbound came to a stop. I saw two cars about 300 feet away in the right westbound lane. I turned and as soon as I entered the right westbound lane he hit the passenger side with his tire and shave the front clean off. You could tell he locked his brakes because there was an obvious mark down the center of his front left wheel with chunks of fiberglass stuck in the bead of his tire. I should have taken a pic of that with my phone. Oh, well.
I remember a story of when you hit a racoon and it broke your lip kit...don't remember where you were going but on the way back you took the same road and the racoon was gone. My brother said you stopped and looked for it with a flashlight to finish it off... hah

That is too bad Mike, sorry to hear about that. Glad you are okay and you seem to be in a good sense of humor about it.

...funny how that story changes. First racoons take out my front end, now cabbies. What's next?!

I was heading west on a four lane road. I stopped to turn left(north)...
Sorry to nitpick, but if you turn left from a westbound road, won't you be heading south?

Glad you're OK. Sorry about the front end, but as you said other than the bumper skin and headlight it looks mainly cosmetic, not structural.
Yeah, I think if you went with a GT front bumper and a lip and painted the bumper and lip to match your silver side skirts it'd look pretty nice.
is it me or do you have two different rims on the car?
????

???? I had a CF hood and it got trashed in the last accident. I got hit from behind and pushed into the car in front.

....edited....excuse the hell out of me!  ;) lol......(sarcasm for those who can't tell) The north part was correct.

Yes....I just had new tires mounted on the 17s and didn't want to screw up the new tread with the terrible problem I have with the front alignment. I'd rather screw up old, cheap tires than the new ones.
sounds like a good idea to me, but why not get it aligned?
I have the camber kits here cheap...

Well, with the front end on it was a ***** to get on the alignment rack. Anyways, I want to swap front struts left and right so I can use the tibby front sway bar, but I need to relocated the brake line brackets first. It's slow progress, what can I say?

So, now it looks like I'll be buying a beater to run to and from work. This way I can park the XD, do premium repairs to it, and slowly build it for boost. It will take a lot of time but in the end I'm hoping for one quick sedan.

You should be one of the first here to do the 05 Tib bumper conversion, if you haven't already got a replacement. ;)
