They don't write you a check for $7000 and tell you "spend it," do they? It seems to me like you would order parts and they would pay for them and for install or something along those lines. Do they leave the mods up to you or do they tell you what to do to your car? What about the exterior? Do they tell you what type/brand/size of rims and color scheme they want? If you're going to be wearing their name at shows I would think they'd command some kind of control over what your car looks like/has done to it.

Not to rain on your parade but is this something like sport compact pro? If so these are scams. You pay an $80 "application fee" then they give you parts at "discounted" rates and say you can spend up to $12,000. The sad thing is, even after the discount the price isn't that good.

A real sponsorship is going to be when a manufacturer/shop picks you because you can offer them something in return. I.E. you go to X number of shows or race at X number of race days. They need to have some sort of ROI (return on investment) to spend their time with you.

Well, being sponsored has it's price. I don't know how legit army's is. He may be very happy with it. If they only want him to go to one show a year, that's not bad, but I worry that there are underlying issues that he doesn't know of. You don't get $7000 and only go to one show. I've heard of alot of crap...hence why I chose not to go the sponsored route. Just let us know how it turns out, I don't want to read about a victim cause of it.

Generally, people that do the car up ENTIRELY for show, and go off the top for it, and have that car as strictly a show car, no driving anywhere are the people that should be sponsored.

the $7,000 contract with hin is on a yr contract and i would only be able to spend it all lil each month. the contract i have with decalkits.com is a $600 sponsorship that i get to spend so much every 30 days if i want. with decalkits.com i have to go to 3 cars shows of my choice. it dosent seem to bad.
