View Full Version : Autocrossing in an Automatic?
Is this done? Is it feasable? Does it have its own class of some sort? I'd love to do Autocross when i move out of the middle of nowhere next year, but my Elantra is an automatic.
Thanks!

I've done it... some might even say automatic can give you advantages since you don't have to worry about shifting. you'll be able to concentrate 100% on driving.... and far as classing is concerned, there isn't a different class just because you're driving an auto. if your car is stock, then you're in stock class. and if you're just starting out, it really won't matter anyway, imo. just have fun and be safe thats about all what matters.

Yup, exactly what crazyGJ said, just go out and have fun, having an automatic doesn't matter.

I autocross my camaro years ago, I just left it in second.(Just check what your top speed or RPM would be in that gear) ..
that way when I took my foot off the gas, it would slow down. it helped when going around the cones. I had a BLAST....
I came in 5th, in a 5 car class :D because I had headers I was in a modifed class instead of a stock class.... Enjoy....
