My CD player on my 04 has been skippin and pausin for a few seconds lately, so i brought it in this mornin so they could do the airbag recall, and check the CD player. I was very happy to find out that they are willing to replace the whole CD player unit, Kenwood and all, all covered under warranty. I figured they would make up some lame excuse like the other dealership did to try to get out of covering the warranty like most places do. So they ordered a new CD deck and all, and are replacing it on saturday. I'm very pleased with this new place. How has your service from your dealer been when covering the warranty?

So far the only warranty work is the recently troubled horn. They were to order and install a new one. Which was two weeks ago and I've not heard a word since!
I am treated like royalty at my dealership (that was sarcasm). They once made me sit and wait for over an hour for an oil change (that I had an appointment for).

Every place has its ups and downs. I just wish that a lot of people that complain about waiting or other minor inconviences could spend a day or so behind the counter to see what really goes on. I'm not slammin anybody, but it sure isn't as easy as you think. A tech calls in sick, advisor doesn't show up, parts is out of something simple . . .any number of things can happen that the oil change you're waiting on just takes a little longer to get to. We figure 30 minutes for an oil change here. Remember this isn't 5 minute jiffy lube. You actually have someone changing you oil that knows what a hyundai is.
As for service, I still gt treated fairly well. I still know half the techs and most of the parts guys. I guess that's just a perk of working there for 3 years.

Fairfax Hyundai was always good to me, but they were just too busy. Two services ago they called me and told me they couldn't meet the appointment I set with them, and while I appreciated the call, I just didn't want to wait. Since, I've gone to Brown's Manassass Hyundai and the service has been great.
I also haven't had any major problems and always try to fix the stuff myself before bothering them with the troubles.
had my headlight replaced and airbag sensors reprogrammed today - free

The dealership I went to in Charleston was good about warranty stuff, but they wouldn't set appointments.... it was first-come, first-served... and they opened at like 7:30am..... I actually had more problems with them when I took the car in for non-warranty items.....
The dealer in Morgantown has been AWESOME so far. When I asked about getting the 3800 hesitation flash done, said he haddn't heard of it, but looked it up, confirmed it, quoted me a price and set an appointment on the spot.... Excellent service!

My dealer... or rather my mechanic at the dealer... takes my car anytime I want. :) Oh, the benefits of knowing people... So I have no clue how my dealer's service actually is. I do know that it is the top rated Hyundai dealership for service in the States, but I've never had a chance to experience that. I just pull my car up to the garage. :)

Well I wouldn't say getting backed up is uncommon. It happens at my dealership all the time. We only have 2 actual Hyundai Techs to work on all the ones that come in. We have another 4 techs just for our Buicks, 1 that switches between the two and 1 tech for used cars. And since its first come, first serve, it gets us put behind sometimes. But our service dept. gives a lot to keep our customers happy and I like that they do that.

Which dealer? I have had no real problems with Hub West, except the Service manager is very abrupt (he is from up north).
Hopefully without getting to far off track, what does the hyundai specific kenwood look like? My OEM MP3 player is acting like a bastard lately, not skipping exactly, just some tracks it wont play properly but they play fine on other equipment. The dealership put an earth strap on the HU as per a hyundai fix for AM reception, they said they`ll replace the co ax 3 piece aerial cable with a one piece if I`m not happy with reception ( when I turn on the parkers, the radio hisses on AM, odd) But I after 2 hyundai`s and a couple of years, my dealership has been great I think.

My brother took his '04 GT in because the CD player was skipping and acting crazy. They replaced it on the spot and even washed his car!
I've taken it in once because my passenger door light would blink and/or flicker while driving down the road. Sometimes it would just stay on for a while. Well, they checked it out but couldn't confirm the problem. I'm gonna be taking it back soon for the Airbag Recall and I'll have them look at the door light again, since it's doing it ALL the time now.
