and, it depends on the size of tire you use on the 17s. if the radius of the tire is the same as the stock tires no, but most likely you will have the speedo off a little bit

As sed mentioned the size of the tire will make a difference, also the brand/model will have an impact, even with the same tire size. Depending on thread design and other factors there is a small difference amongst manufacturers.

Did you have michelin or kumho stock tires? My kuhmo had a height of 24.1" and the michelin 24.2. You should try to be the closest as possible to those heights. On a 17" rim, here are some tire example at 215/40r17
Toyo proxes 4 = 23.9"
Kumho 712 = 23.8
Contisportcontact = 24"

All these will throw the speedo off on the negative side (meaning you are slower then what the speedo says, this is better then going over imo). Check this thread for more information and calculator to know how off you will be.

On the 17", 205/45/17's will keep the speedo at the same speed.

And XD is more than just the name..... it's hundai's code name for this generation car....

Examples.... current Tib is GK, previous tib was RD, new sonata is NF....

This is mentioned rarely but many people have noted that our cars already come with speedo slightly off. I like to drive my car at 80 mph and I'm always hit by radar at 78mph. Sometimes also when my fiancee are driving together her car will also say 78 when mines at 80. This is using the stock tire.

This leads me to believe that 195/60/15 may not have been the calibrated size (maybe 185/65/15? which is 1% bigger and matches very close to 215/45/17)

It is highly possible that the speedo was calibrated using 185/65. My door stickers has both sizes, 195/60r15 and 185/65r15.
