Hagerstown Meet

OK.... 04GTboyVA and I have been talking about setting up an informal meet in Hagerstown, MD.... basically it's about halfway between us... lol

Anywho, this is open to everyone... It is planned for June 5th in Hagerstown, MD.. but that's about all that has been officially decided. There's a state park nearby (Greenbrier State Park (http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/western/greenbrier.html) ) that looks like a nice place for a get together and Bring-Your-Own-Picnic... hopefully we can get a grill at the park to do some cooking. I think I can also bring a small charcoal grill as a backup....

SO..... If you have any ideas, suggestions (especially if you're familiar with the area), or just want to say you're coming... post away!

Well..... I just noticed that the park I was looking at charges $4 admission, and an extra $1 if you're a non-maryland resident..... so that may prompt a search for another location.....

Sorry for the late reply fellas, just saw this post. How about a trip to Hagerstown Raceway? Dragstrip on Rt 40 just south of town. There is also a cart track right across the street from the dragstrip that is hella cool! I would say we could cruise Dual Hwy but that would be very "local" of us, (not in a good way either) PM me if you wanna, we can swap phone numbers and such...

Its a pretty cool place actually they have a circular "slick"track and a "road course" If I remember correctly they have a miniature golf course and a batting cage too. The dragstrip ain't bad either LOL I used to race my old Dodge there on Friday nights. If you are into World of Outlaws then there is always Hagerstown Speedway also, a dirt track about ten miles on the opposite side of town. :cool:

That does sound like a cool idea.... I'd rather pay a few bucks for activities than to just get into a park..... (In WV, our state parks are FREE!)

If you can get us some more details on the place that would be great... I'm having a little trouble finding info....

Probably not anything to find on the net i'm afraid, its a pretty low-tech kinda place. Hagerstown chamber of commerce website maybe? As far as I know the place is still there, the dragstrip Iknow is still there...

hey keyan, it would be best for you to somehow get to i-81 and then take that down and u'll see signs for hagerstown I-70 easy route, if you take 78 u'll only need 75 cents

OK.... less than a week to go, so we need to work out some details....

1: Sounds like the Family Recreation Park is where we want to go..... any objections?

2: Any suggestions on what time to meet? Obviously, everyone doesn't HAVE to be there at the same time, but we need to pick a time... The above mentioned park opens at Noon...

There are directions on the website, it seems like it's pretty easy to get to.



The best part about this meet is that even if only a couple people show up, we're still going to have fun and something to do. The more the merrier, of course, and I'd love to get to meet a bunch people from the northeast region.... I'm not going to start a list of the people who say they're going to be there.... we all know how that seems to work out around here.....


All are welcome... no car is too modded or too stock to attend!!!

Scott and I are planning on meeting at 11:30.... this way hopefully all the XD's can park together for pics and to "represent"... LOL.... of course, you don't have to be there at 11:30... but if we don't know you, it may make if a little harder to meet up inside.... makes me wish I had an ElantraXD shirt....

If you're gonna be coming later, and let someone know ahead of time, we can always meet up in the parking lot...

I have done it if you do a search on the old forum it should come up :D . But anyway If someone brings/gets/there is one there bbq I will bring burgers dogs and buns and stuff and ice if someone else wants to hit a sams club and pick up soda and a few bags of chips that would be cool.

OK... once we get there we can see if there's a place we can grill out.... I know they have a snack bar, but I'm not sure about them having a free picnic area. Cooking out would be cool, but we may have to go somewhere else to do that.... maybe one of us should look into getting one of those disposable grills that has charcoal already in it if we really want to cook out.....

I'm in if everybody else wants to grill... but i'm ok with eating somewhere else too.....

Um. I might have the mid-pipe installed for the meet. I'm not sure. mrhoaf are you hands on if I can't do it myself? Can we do it at the meet?

And do any of you have a soldering iron ? I need to solder something inside my dash and it would be cool if we could do that there too :D

We plan on meeting there like what, 11? So I need to leave like around 5 or 6 to get there on time hmm.

6:30am I'm actually leaving now hhahaha.

The thing I want to solder is a 12v "adpater" that will be hidden behind the dash for part of my ipod integration (so i can plug in my car charger and still have 2 other 12v points) So we'll need a solder, a wire stripper, piece of wood (cause the wires extend only so far and you need to put the wire down on something to solder it) and eletrical tape or HEAT SHRINK! lol

I have the midpipe and I sprayed PB blater on the bolts already, should I bring a breaker bar? I might...

andddddddddddd that's it. 4 hour drive ahead of me. See you guys there, scott, call me when everyone is there if i'm not already.

Hell yeah great pic me in front thanks to my freak kart go lucky number 9!! :D Even on the second race I started from the back passed everyone and somehow was lucky enough to spin it and come in last. :mad:

Well the first one came out alright and after looking at the rearview I knew the 2nd car wouldn't look to good so in to on-coming traffic I went lol. To bad it came out shakey :(. I bet that g6 owner nearly **** him self. o god he's not going to get over omg omg omg omg omg wheww pulled back over in the nick of time.

Glad you guys had a good time. Sorry as hell I missed the meet (stupid new house! Stupid new job!) Maybe I'll catch the next one. Summit Point is only ten miles from my house BTW, on a nice twisty road too, Tee-Hee....
