I'm looking into getting some 17" rims for my 2001 elantra. I've been eyeing these from wheelguyz.com (http://www.wheelguyz.com).

http://www.wheelguyz.com/cgi-bin/prodspics/MR7.jpg

On the front page they have these for $579 wheel & tire package. I called them up and they said that with 215/45/17 Nankang tires, hardware, mounting and balancing...shipped free they would be "at my door" for $739. Is this a good deal? I still want to check out some local places but just wanted to get some opinions on this deal. So the extras are $60 mounting/balancing, $40 hardware, and $60 for the bigger tires. The defaults would be 205s.

I've read mixed reviews on the Nankang tires. I'm not gonna be using them for anything other than daily driving, but I want them to last at least 20k miles. Maybe I'll stick with the 205s and save the $60 for my next set of tires.

Any help/opinions would be great. Thanks!

get 215/45s also. 205/40s are gonna have a smaller sidewall, and the 215s are gonna absorb bumps better (not great- better) and ride a little nicer

check out ebay or locally. ebay usually has some nice wheel/tire packages w/ free shipping, so youll save a lil $

I ended up finding the same wheels on ebay for $549 shipped. I upgraded the tires to 215/45-17, still Nankangs. Total came to $644 with hardware. I got the wheels today, they actually gave me 215/45ZR17 Sumitomo tires. From the reviews I've found online it seems like these are an upgrade from the Nankangs. I had them installed and they don't seem to have any vibrations or anything. The guy at the wheel shop said I don't need rings because the hub fits perfectly for my car and that there shouldn't be any vibration....so far he's right....but I've only put like 2 miles on them, so that's not saying much.

All I have for now are pics from my cell phone. I'll try to get some better pics once I wash it.

Are you lowered? From the gap showing in the first pic I would say no, but from the second and third pics I would say yes.

I'm not lowered. I'm not really sure if I'm going to do that yet. I've got 88k miles on my stock suspension so I'm thinking of changing it soon, but don't know if I want the hassle of being lowered.
