Hi, just bought an `05 Elantra GT 5-speed last week (may 20th) used to drive a big old Dodge Ram that was pretty well modded. So I knew what worked and didn`t work on it with a lot of trial and error. But if you guys can give me some good advise to what works and doesn`t work as far as performance mods go, so I don`t waste my time and $$$ i`d greatly appreciate it. Looking to get more air in and more out (intake/exhaust). Been doing some looking on here the last couple of days but products/brands I used on my truck just aren`t available for this car.-Todd

hi Todd and welcome to the site! First do the basic mods I/H/E. There are several intakes that can be purchased from ebay for dirt cheap, most people tend to buy the Accord intake (do a search on that). For the exhaust you can have a shop custom make one or purchase one from sharkracing.com (there are others but the addys dont come to mind). The header well ebay again for that, its pretty cheap. I have a crank underdrive pulley that made a big difference, take a look around there is a ton of experience and knowledge here. Good luck

For the intake, you have a few choises.
1) Wait for sed, the parts guy for Rick Case Hyundai, to get a deal with aem for a CAI.
2) Go on ebay, and get a honda accord CAI, 2 peice. 4cyl. 2.75inch.
3) Get an evofusion CAI

Also for intake, FordFasterR does a custom port/polish job for smoother air flow.
For the exhaust, I recommend:
Hotshot headers
and
Custom built catback w/ flowmaster or magnaflow muffler.

Welcome to the site.

You are pretty much right, nothing available for a Ram will be available for an Elantra, but, there are a good amount of choices. I'd search around a little bit.

The Beta II is a strong motor, there are various turbo Betas running 300-500WHP (in Korea). There are some turbo Betas running over here too, and it seems to be the most beneficial source of power for the money.

Good luck.
