Hi guys, I have posted a few times earlier about getting black rims and now I am finally going to do it.
My mind is firmly set on getting 17" Glossy Black rims with silver/chrome lining (aka machined)
I just have difficult time deciding on which...
so here's where XD members come in handy :p
I did some research on my own and here are the choices
Would you guys please comment on which one you think would look the best? and also, which one has the best price? And don't hesitate to mention if you are aware of better rims/offer than these.
btw, I have Black 04 Elantra GT
1st, Faulken 5-spoked rims with Faulken tires ($920 shipped)
http://edgeracing.com/2004/Hyundai/Elantra/wheel/1550/
2nd, Rev multi-spoked (10) rims with tires ($800 shipped)
http://www.gotwheelsandtires.com/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=44&products_id=659
3rd, BSA 8-spoked Rims with tires ($849 shipped)
http://www.gotwheelsandtires.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=31&products_id=362
4th, Motegi Riax Gloss Black Rims WITHOUT tires ($485 shipped)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43957&item=7976560133&rd=1
5th, Motegi FF7 Gloss Black Rims WITHOUT tires ($544 shipped)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7976149132&category=43957
I personally am favoring the second choice. I like the looks (multi-spoked) and the price is decent. Also, I like how the rims are mounted on tires. The problem is I have never heard of the site so I question their reliability.
But yeah, any feedback would be appreciated.
And thanks for taking your time to read this.
P.S. - ASAP reply please, I want the rims so baddddd!

I can't see #1 so I can't comment on that. Of all the wheels, I would probably go with #2 also.
If money is not a problem for you, then you would probably like this:

link 1 didn't work for me the first time I clicked on it, but it worked the second time..... interesting....
Option 2 doesn't say what kind of tires you're getting with the wheels..... and I looked all over the site.... I would try contacting them before you buy to see what the tires are... plus, that will give you some idea how hard/easy it is to get ahold of someone there....
I also notice that the auctions for #4 and #5 have ended.... so they may end up being eliminated anyway.....
I like the looks of #2 best.... if the tires are decent and the company can be trusted....

I like the first and the second one. the others seem a bit too flashy/ricy. But what do I know I still have stock stuff. Good luck on your decision! I may soon follow someday when I have the cash.

I like options 1 and 2. I can vouch for EdgeRacing.com. I got my Falken Rims/Tires from them and the service/shipping was super fast!!! However, if you're performance minded, you're not gonna like the effect these heavy rims will have on your low end acceleration. My Falkan Hanabi's are 16lbs...but wrapped with Falken 512's in 205/45ZR17, the weight jumped up to 42lbs per combo. That's about 4lbs heavier on each corner. Blah...big deal, right? WRONG! I felt an imidiate difference and only got some of it back with the lightweight flywheel. Ok, enough of that...I like the first two choices...best of luck to you.

I've always like the Rev wheels, those 10 spokes are nice, I think there is another Elantra with them, not black though.

#2 and #4 are the same rim. I have heard of Rev rims before (can't comment on their quality), but I have never heard of Riax rims???? The worst part is they seem to think that Motegi is a good brand to imitate, so the seller is calling it Motegi Riax when Motegi doesn't even make any in that style. Check out their website at http://www.motegiracing.com/wheels/index.asp. Motegi makes heavy, ok rims but somehow stays popular with the cheap ricer crowd. My opinion is because due to the price and the fact that their name sounds like a Japanese wheel company. Tenzo is another brand that comes to mind. Cheap, crappy products that gets by due to it's name.
So between your choice of the Rev and Riax, I would get the Rev although I wouldn't be surprised if the 2 rims are the same exact copy coming from the same manufacturer, just rebranded with different names.

GUYS I DID IT!
I ORDERED!
I was going to wait until tomorrow to order it, but the site selling the rims had special sale that ended today (memorial special)
If I was to order by midnight today, I was to get free lugs and bolts (valued at approx $100?)
So yeah, I closed my eyes and gave them my card number
The rims I got are from the second choice
2nd, Rev multi-spoked (10) rims with Wynstar all-season tires
http://www.gotwheelsandtires.com/ca...products_id=659
$839 was the final price I paid including rims mounted on tires, lugs, bolts, and free shipping
I realize that some of you are going to say "wtf is Wynstar?"
Yeah, I have never heard of them either, lol, but their specs are equal to Kumho 711's... (z-rated) so what the hell, I might as well save 70 bux...
here is the link to the tires
http://www.gotwheelsandtires.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=23&products_id=312
I got 215/45/17.
What I loved about this site is they are open from 9am to midnight, and the service was super fast and nice. She said she will try to put everything tomorrow and send it to me right away so I can receive it next monday (3-4 days for shipping)
But I would just like to say thanks to all the members of XD who responded so quickly
Within an hour, I received seven feedbacks and they truly helped me decide on the rims
So thanks guys
P.S. - Tints (20% all around) and Rims are done. Next mods are sidemarkers and taillights

Congrats on your big purchase :) Were the Wyndstars the only tires you could pick from without adding to the price of the package? I noticed that they also offered Hankook and if that was the same price I would have gone with those tires.

Yeah for that price
It was between Nankang NS-1 and Wyndstar
Nankan is H-rated or something, and Wyndstar is Z-rated
The saleslady highly recommended wyndstar, reading me stats off the list
Other tires were going to cost me 100-200 more
So yeah, I will use these for awhile, then get my mom to buy me new sets or something if it's bad
lol yeah, I am only in high school 17 year-old Junior! Woot!

I would have gone with the wyndstars too then. Just use them till they wearout and the next time get better tires. Take some pics once you get ur wheels on!
