Nope. Too big. 205/45-17's are closest to the proper diameter. But if you want something bigger, 215/45-17's will also fit. :)

u think they will rub? i dont care if they arent the right diameter as long as they dont rub.

215 sounds right to me, but maybe not. if 15's are 195, 16's should be 205, and 17's should be 215's at least. 225 if you want em a little wider. maybe im wrong

yeah but im more concerned with tire height... 50 series. im on sotck height, but not sure how these will fit.

Yeah, they'll probably rub the strut perches.

I'd get 215/45-17 instead -- they fill the wheel wells nicely and there are plenty of tire options in that size.

oh, i was talkin about the width. as fas as height, 45 is probably best. 50 is a little tall.

45 is also a bit too tall, go with 215/40/17. I have it and it fits just fine.

215/45-17 is a larger diameter than stock, but they WILL fit and they look great and ride great if that's what you want. :)

guys this isnt the issue. i HAVE 214 45 17 and its the best tires to get on xd by far. but there was a set of 5zigen i wanted and they were prewrapped with 215 50 17 and i was making sure that no one had got it to fit before i counted it out.

thanks for the help anyways. i let it pass after i went out and felt around my 45's... theres no way anymore room would fit. kinda makes me wonder if even eibachs would fit with 45s cuz it was so close.

Yep, that's pretty much how it is. You're going to have problems with the tire rubbing the bottom of the spring perch with 215/50-17's. And there's no way around that short of upgrading to coilovers which may or may not provide the clearance you need.

They should work fine with Eibach's, mine did. The clearance at the fender is all you'll have to worry about since you already know strut-side clearance is not an issue. And if they do happen to rub (most likely at the rear fenders) then you can set a little more negative camber to resolve the issue, and that'll be good for handling anyway.

You can set the rear for as much as -1.2 degrees camber which should allow enough clearance for 215/45-17's on any XD sedan or hatchback, lowered or not (as long as your 17x7" wheels have a 40 - 45mm offset). The only situations when that may not be the case is when you're using tires which run unusually wider than their specs suggest like Falken Azenis or BFG KDW's do. [That was a lot to say.]

Actually,I think you got it a little mixed up. 215 is the section width (tread width) measured im millimeters. So by going from a 195 to a 225 you just gained 30mm in width. That's a big difference. The 40/45/50 is the aspect ratio. Basically a ratio using the width of the tire to determine the height of the sidewall. That's why the sidewall of a 185/60 tire will be different then a 205/60 tire.

Now when you increase whel diameter you need to DECREASE the aspect ratio and vice versa.

Hope that helps.
