Alright, I need new tires before my current ones bust and I wreck or something. These are going on the stock rims, what brand/size would you recommend? Oh, by the way, CHEAPER is key word...well, as cheap as you can get without comprimising safty. All season tires prefered!

Thanks guys/gals!

I agree with the Kumho recommendation -- I love my Escta 711's.

I also like the Dunlop performance all season tires (I think they're called Charger or Challenger HP now -- they're the replacement for the S/P sport A2)

If you want performance tires at a good price, check Tire Rack online. Often it's cheaper to order them from them and pay for the tire and shipping than buying them locally. Most garages charge the same $ to mount them whether you buy the tire from them or not.

I got Falkens Ziex and they are a great all around tire, which is why I wanted them. Mind you they are the ones on my good rims, not my stockers, but when I have to grab new ones for the winter, I'll prolly invest in the same ones again.

the Fuzions handle better than Azenis? You mean the ST115s right?

These are for the stock steelies, which will hopefully soon be retired into "winter only" tires. So I kinda need good all season tires. Im thinking about just going to sam's club and getting some cheapies there.

Discount Tire Direct is having a free shipping promotion on tires through June 15th. If you do not have a retail store in your state (like I did) you don't pay tax or shipping. I saved $150 on the cost of my new tires vs buying them locally - and they just came today. I got some Yokohama Avid V4S. Rated as #1 in their class on tirerack, and have an excellent tread warranty (500 AA A). I got 205/55 15's and cannot wait to get them installed next week.

Review: Yokohama Avid V4S (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=Avid+V4S&partnum=055VR5V4S&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes)

Stock size (195/60 15):Yokohama Avid H4s (http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?mk=&yr=2003&sw=false&cs=195&pc=44666&rd=15&vid=008010&ar=60) $56 each
Plus zero size (205/55 15): Yokohama Avid V4s (http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?mk=&yr=2003&sw=false&cs=205&pc=44683&rd=15&vid=008010&ar=55) $75 Each

best bang for $ (195/60 15) - $49 Avid touring (http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?sw=false&cs=195&pc=43712&rd=15&ar=60) huge tread life, 80K I think.

OK, a question to stick on here since I am too lazy to search, the 205/55R15 size is close enough to stock to not cause any major problems, right (for OEM alloy's)?

Correct. The minimum rim width for the 205 tire is in most cases is 5.5" (width of the stock steelies). I believe the recommendations are 5.5" - 7.5". A few people have them on the stock steelies no problem, and a few more on the stock alloys (6" width). The 99-01 Sonata alloys I have are also 6" wide.

With a 205/55 R15, at 70 MPH, your speedometer would read 70.98, and at 1000 miles traveled the odometer would read 1014.01.

Geez, now that I think about it, I will have to do some kind of conversion factor to get the true miles when calculating MPG. Oh well, a small price to pay for high performance rubber...

OK, thanks. As far as the speedo being off, they are not always dead on from the factory. GPS is the only way to be sure.
