these have been discussed on here before and the general concensus is that they are gayer than liberachi. ilan and i, however, both had suggestions for modifying them to make a more pleasing product. i believe ilan suggested painting them body colot, and i suggested actually sanding down that inner lip that it has for a smooth and flat cover. if modified i think it has potential to look decent, but fake chrome just looks yucky.

FYI, neither those, nor any other chrome tail light or light cover is "euro" or "euro style" as no self respecting european would ever have that on their car. It would be much more appropriate to call them "Rice/Toyota Style" Lights or Light Covers.
Man whoever thought that it would be cool to have a chrome plating machine throw up all over a set of tail lights (or covers) should be hung along with the inventor of the $20 ebay chip, the turbonator, and the phrase "plus size."

i played a bit in photoshop with this design, creating a flat design (not multiple planes like they have) and i made it body color. it really didnt look bad at all... painting it body color is easy, but they have it raised on 3 different levels if you take a look at it, sanding that down by hand, while possible, would be extremely difficult to keep it all level. though i'd need a good look at the reverse side to see how it's constructed.
makes me wonder if its even worth the effort? making your own thin plastic covers CANT be that expensive. it should be cake for some company to make a mold and simply punch out the design you want.
i have noticed one major difference between "good" looking tail lights and ones i consider bad, ad its quite subtle. take a look at any bmw, mercedes, the new volvo s40, etc closely. the tail lights, in the large red areas, are never one SOLID red color like ours, they have subtle shifts in the color that either arise from reflective surfaces on the inside or smoking the lense oh so slightly in linear patterns.

Right, these are eww, that's why nobody on this site has even attempted to buy them and make them good looking.
If someone manages to do so though, I'd want to see it.

how would those covers even fit on? would u glue them to the existing tail light or knock out the old one and glue it on to that..... it looks like he has red disks on some of the pics so u wouldn't see the light bulb... confused
