id love for em to drop the tint % to 20% for maryland, but it aint gunna happen. they wont all of a sudden decide, you know what, since all these people want it done, we should do it. it really wont benefit them anyway. but why not try.

Yeah I know what you mean man I figure why not give it a shot you know? Ya never know, its always worth a try. Especially after reading what happened in the state of Indiana with this kid a few years back:

Im from PA, have tint and neons, and fully support this! But I think sending letters to the governer might do a little better...

signed..but i agree with OPZ. sending letters or getting handwritten signatures will probably work better.

I live in PA and I like the idea of the petition, but I don't like some of the wording in the petition, so I didn't sign it.

Sorry!

If you'd like to discuss the wording, please PM me...

I also didn't like some of the wording but I also think that maybe you should limit yourself to one or the other. Tint, imo, would be a better candidate than the neon.

Uhh, there's no percentage statute in PA for tint.

no there isn't..all it says that one should be able to see inside the car without any problems. guess what that means...open to interpretation. and when it is open to interpretation they go by precedent. and the precedent has been set that any level of tint obstructs the ability to see clearly from the outside looking in. at the same time you can legally pass inspection with tinted windows because the two codes used (inspection and whatever the cops use) aren't the same or even clear on the subject of tint. all i know is that there are no limits on tints for MPVs (trucks, SUVs and stationwagons) for all windows except for front side and windshield. so a petition of sort setting a clear limit on the level of tint would be better than what exists now.

It's kind of a "be careful what you ask for" sort of thing though. By setting a precedent on percentage, you're potentially screwing over people like myself, who have tint that would definitely not fall in the legal range, but are currently capable of getting the fine reduced via jurisprudence. Setting a standard would invariably make any argument against subjectivist ticket-giving null.
