you go with a tiburon over an integra for power? idk about you, but the availablilty in parts is what made me choose an integra over another hyundai

its ok. ill sleep well tonight knowing i can drop 1/2 as much for aftermarket parts and make more power.

i can get forged pistons for <400$. forged rods for 250$. remapped tuned ECU for ~500 after tuning... :D

i think what is cool about the integra is that there are very few of them on the road.

thats the truth i like the sleek look of that one

well first the drop is h&r racing springs on tokico illumina adjustable struts

honestly this car is probably nicer than any hyundai out there interior wise. if any of you really care to see the inside just let me know.

the paint is relatively new. i knew the guy who had the car before me and i've always loved it. it's a 95 with an 01 front end and type r lip. shaved moldings/wing/antenna

as for this power wise over a tib? **** a tib. the LS engine is torquey as **** and even with me loosing somc compression in the 3rd cylinder due to piston rings it still chirps 3rd. i've got an extra ls engine sitting athome that also came with the car that i'm saving up to build ls/vtec for a fun/reliable daily driven car.

stop posting about what is better or who is cheap etc. i love the way dc tegs look and it was between this and a few other hondas. and honestly the interior/body work on this car was the final decider even though the others had more work to the engines done.

the tib, well it was a small accident and the person i hydroplaned into barely had a dent in his bumper. my hood was ****ed the fender etc. what totalled it was the radiator got cracked and the total damage was 2700 but they gave me 3244 for it and that was way more than i could have sold it for in this area. i miss it but i'm much happier with the teg. this is actually my second car since the tiburon, i initially got an xterra but gas was killing me along with the cost of paying it off. i got this teg for 6k if anybody is curious.

torque? honda? same sentence? WHA?!!?!?

KDMdreamin
11-24-2006, 11:30 PM
go **** yourself

act like you've got torque up in your elantra. the LS is known to be a strong engine at lower rpms because it's torquey for a honda engine..

haha! So true, so true.Honda's and acura's = no torque. end of discussion no arguement.

Not saying they cant be quick because I too personally like honda/acura, but there just isnt torque there

KDMdreamin

ok, and your elantra puts down SOOO much torque. let's see a dyno of an elantra with intake/full exhaust and see what kinda torque it puts down.

and if you knew anything about honda engines you know why people like the LS as an all motor engine and a turbo engine.

Doesn't matter if the Elantra puts down no torque, that doesn't make the other engine have it either.

I'm not claiming to know a lot about Honda engines, but the comparison over an Elantra doesn't exactly make the other car seem all that much better?

(edit, to clarify what I'm saying here- bashing the Elantra doesn't make a good defense for another car. Few sane people here will argue about how good of a performance vehicle the Elantra is.)

every engine has its postives and negitives..... hondas do tend to have alot of torque in the low end and but thats not true to every honda engine while hyundias tend to have more power on the top end depending on what you do and yes its gonna cost more to do stuff to a hyundia because we have such alittle market for performance parts. But i always love the fact when people say..."thats a hyundia????.....man thats f*cking awesome.

yea plus umm the elantra platform was never really suppost to be performance which make it even cooler when you start doing wild things like seoufulracing has done which pretty much says if you have the time and the money you can pretty much make any car a performance one.

well you're sitting here talking about the honda not having any torque...welll, talk **** when you know **** kinda thing.

even when i had a hyundai i knew why the LS was a popular platform. it's 9:1 compression stock is good for boost or you can throw an vtec head on it and it's a poor man's type r that is capable of boost with some building. now straight up it's a cheap engine that is quite torquey stock for it's massive 140 hp. it is definately is a fun car to drive around. and stock for stock i'd take it over the beta platform for many reasons. and bottom end power is one. it doesn't have VTEC so it has to have power somewhere right?

except changing the oil filter.

my GSR puts down the same amount of torque as the elantra does stock for stock 135, but because it revs to 8k redline, 8500 fuel cut, it puts down 170 CKP at 7600rpms.

so realistically, my gsr torque = my elantra torque (stock for stock) but my gsr HP > my elantra HP

its all in where its at.

civially speaking, I never claimed the elantra to have SOOO much torque, or much torque at all for that matter, most low displacement engines have trouble making high numbers when it comes to torque. Once again I'm not saying they can't be fast, there are many honda's/acura's that have impressed me, hell there is a local guy that runs 13.4 1/4 mile in his rsx, and were a mile high where the altitude effects us like a b**** lol
