Hello yes I'm new at all of this stuff, I have the R34 body kit in the garare and I am going to have it put on soon , is it easier to put it on myself or have someone else do it. Also I know of some trimming that needs to be done to the sides of the kit. I do not have new shoes for my car yet, but that is coming , I know that I want 5 spoke , smoky gunmetal for the rims, and I want 16s or 17s low profile, any suggestions for the shoes would be nice, and what would I need to to do to my suspension for the R34 kit to keep it from being too low...Too low for me is a 1-1/2-3 inches ...3-5 would be perfect ground clearence all around..
thanks guys .....
5 inches with a full kit is raising the car, MAYBE MABYE MAYBE if you keep stock ride height and put 17's on you will have 3 inches of ground clearance.
Don't drop the car at all

I want my car to look good and that is the wuestion that I am having right now and I do not know anything about tires and rims what soever. 17" Rims or tires what is the difference and do you have any suggestions for Having the kit put on???
well the kit should be installed/painted by a professional, especially if you are new to modding.
Tires and rims check out www.wheelguyz.com www.wheelmax.com www.tirerack.com
they will all let you select a vehicle and check out what wheels will be cool for your car.
One word of advice, a fully kitted car, even with 17's is going to look off without a drop, there will be too much fender gap (the space between the tire and the fender) for such a modified car....

So for the best look I should only keep it the same height or lower slightly to reduce the fender gap. About how much does it cost to have the kit professionaly installed/painted, I am in the Dallas area of Texas if anyone has any suggestions.
should be no more than 800 - 900 bucks for install and paint...
also yes to LOOK the best you should get eibachs and drop it 1.5 inches, but remember, that is going to be a good 1.75 - 2.00 inches ground clearance....

sounds good that doesn't sound too much for install and paint I should be able to get that done real soon. Well lowering would seem to be the number one thing to do, so that is what I will do. Thanks Is there a difference between eibach springs or is there ones you would sujjest.
well eibachs are the shortest drop and the best quality in my opinion.
to break it down by quality would be
eibachs 1.5"
H&R 1.75" - 2"
SpringTech 2.5" - 2.75"
Arospeed 3" - 3.5"

As far as paint.. $1200 at the most (shop around for the best pricing.. plus try to find out the quality of work they do... either by others who had work done by the shop)... instal will cost more... that depends on the fitment generally... and the shop
Eibachs.. is the way Im going $260 is what that will run....
i have them for 240 + shipping

arent eibachs about an inch? and h&r about 1.5 inch?
id suggest 215 45 17 with eibachs. otherwise the wheel gap will make u mad.

I think discount tire company says that we can put 18's on our cars...anyone have 18's? Maybe they would look better with the kit...maybe not lol.

Im in the process of getting 18's.. yes they will fit.. someone on here had 19's.... but they cost a lil more then I would pay
Sed... not much difference in price... now if you had them in for 200+ship.. Id be buying... thinking 180 for B&G's .. since I wont be driving this car in the winter....

18's do fit but beware of any potholes. I have 17's with 215/45's on it dropped on Eibach's. At first I didn't like the drop and wanted more. But if I'm going to get the R34 kit then it's better to have a small drop only.
Plus eibach's give you no bounce and a great ride. i've had them for almost 3 years..
if ur worried about clearance and u think that the drop the eibachs provide is too low then i recommend buying a set of Ground Control coilovers , with these u can adjust the drop of the car from 0-4 inches and anything in between and they use Eibach springs i think that Ground Control doesnt make some for the XD but they do make them for 97-01 tiburons (part#9505 tibby coilovers link (http://www.ground-control-store.com/products/description.php/II=118/CA=24) ) and those are a direct swap with no extra mods needed. i know so... i have 97 tibby struts and springs on my XD and it was a direct swap so the coilover should too. oh and i live in ft worth (saginaw exactly) if u do get the springs or whatever i wouldnt mind helpin u install them to save u acouple hundred dollars, if u'd like. PM me if u want my #

Thanks I will probably give it some more thought then. I will be going with the 17's on the shoes and as for springs I am having the eibachs sent now, and they ran 228 altogether.
