Has anyone used a tire pen on thier tires to make them white letter or any other color? I was thinking of getting Toyo Proxxes and thought it might look nice with white or blue letters (Car=Silver). How long does the color last though?

Kspec sells these pens:
I'd love to see how it would look on our car. Personally I'm not a fan of colored lettering on the tires, but lately I've been thinking that it might look a little "sportier".
I think the best color would probably be white or yellow. Blue & red would blend in too much with the black background.

It's definitely an interesting touch if you have black wheels since it helps break up the black. And this guy did a really clean looking job.

None for me thanks. ;)
By the way, the white lettering seems most at home on a race car to me, or a passenger car modded appropriately for road racing. It'll probably look silly without sticking to that theme. Just my 2 cents.
And you may be able to improve the look a little more if the wheels had a polished lip.

Overall I think it's stupid, but agree with SWortham for the most part.

ok, so everyone can laugh at me for trying this out. its white, i couldnt find a red one. i just bought one for 3.99 at autozone. its a 4.00 hit or miss. on my new nitto's they have a japanese letter between the words neo gen. so that will get white, possibly the word nitto also. i wish i had red, i bet that would look good. ill do the paint tomorrow, and post pics on sunday.
if it doesnt look good, time to get the chemicles out and clean it off.

ok, first time using the pen. it took about 1 1/2 hrs to do 4 tires. i only did 2 letters which were only anout 2 1/2" each on each tire. i put 4 coats on to cover up any missed spots. i could only find white. well, it looks sweet. i went for a drive 6 hrs later, and it had some pressure cracks in it already. so i had to do some touch ups. it states that the vehicle can be driven during the 24-36 hr drying period. i drove it in 6hrs. i would say the tire pen is ok for looks. i dont think the tire pen will last long on the tire because of all the flexing the tire does and the paint is not flexable in my opinion (causing the presure cracks). im on my way to my friends house to snap some new pics of the car. ill post pics later today.
i have 18's with a small sidewall, so this may have played a factor in the paint cracking a little, i cant say it will do the same for everyone else. cornbreadxd, i would deffinately try it out. i think you will like the outcome:)
cant wait to see 2loud! i want to ee how it looks on the red gt :)

ok, here it is. it took me long enough. not bad. here are a couple differnt pics.
i can tell you that you will need to do touch ups almost everyday to keep looking new, but then again if you have a larger sidewall this might help in the cracking of the paint. but i like the way it looks.

I think it just looks like there is a white mark on the tire. If you did the words it would look like more than just a mark.
Overall it looks like it was applied pretty well.

^^^ I have to agree with James. Unless you're up close looking at it, it kinda just looks like maybe you got some paint splatter on the tire from riding over a freshly painted white line on the road.
Looks nice close up though.

It's going to look best if the tire has large lettering on each end of the tire like the Kumho MX, IMO.

like i said before. i have 18's. there is little sidewall for this to show up like you all would like. if you have 17's or 16's then you have a little more side wall to work with than me and it should show up much better. all i really wanted to do was to paint the 2-1 1/2" japaneese letters to see how i liked it. after every drive the paint cracks and discolors a little. i have to buy another tire pen, this time ill paint nitto and touch up the lettering and see how that looks.
