How often do you change your oil?

Mobil 1 Synthetic w/ Mobil 1 oil filter is getting a bit too expensive for me, so I switched to Mobil 1's Synthetic Extended for 15K miles. I'll have to see how that works out.

Royal Purple 10w30. I use the larger Purolator Oil Filter and change it every 3,000 miles, while the oil stays in for 6,000.

Wasn't this just a poll a while back?
None of the above apply, I go the Hyundai recomended 7500 miles between oil changes, with a synthetic though.
Edit: nope, no poll, just a few threads discussing it. Sorry.
I plan on changing it every 2500 miles.Changed it this time at 2700.I am using Castrol syntec 10-30
I havent changed it yet in my car because it only has 2100 miles on it. Im getting it changed at 3000 miles because I have a free oil change from the dealer but after that Ill change it myself every 3000 miles.

Mobil1 5w30 in the winter, 15w50 in the summer, OEM filter. every 6000kms, which is what Hyundai Canada calls for. I'll follow it even after the warranty runs out because I'm afraid to go any longer even on synthetic with my driving style.

Okay, so my option was not there so I choose the 3,000 with synthetic. I usually change it every 3 to 4 months regardless of the mileage (note: my car is 2 and 1/2 years old and only has 10,000 miles on it so I do not see 3,000 miles in 3 to 4 months).

Amsoil 100% synthetic turbo oil...guaranteed for 25,000 miles or 1 year...so I do it every 6 months!

There's no option for once a month...
I dunno what kind of oil. I just pull up to the magic door, the car disappears and reappears an hour later.

I can't really vote. I keep a close eye on it and change as it gets dirty. Rioght now that's about 4k miles. Hyundai filter and valvoline 10w30. 46k and counting.

What weight you looking for?
Racing 51 is a 20w-50 oil, not API certified, and regular 15w-40 and 20w-50 Synthetic.
Or are you saying you just can't locate it? Any seller of RP can get it for you if they don't stock it.

Please drive to my house and I will change it for you. At least then you will know what type of oil is in there. :)
I use Castrol Full Synthetic and at 7500 miles. I got over 300,000 on my 2.4L Toyota extracab 4X4 at that interval and the motor looked brand new, inside, when I tore it down.
I do mine at 2 -2,500 k depending on how I drive it.Im very hard on cars
Wally world does mine.. had it done today actualy 3,100 miles on the car...

Got a brand new Elantra with 2,900 some odd miles on it. I can get a discount at the local oil change place but I have zip zero no clue what you guys are talking about with all the W's and colors, 10's and 20's, synthetic and regular and what not....
This is my first car and I was planning on just taking it in, watching go over the big hole where they put the grease monkey and getting it back.
Do I need to learn all about these oil types?

Do you need to, no.
If you want to, go to www.bobistheoilguy.com and read the forums there.

I'm so going to get reamed out for this.....and I don't know why I bother to say anything, but it's been a LONG time since I changed my oil and right now it's the cold weather that has something to do with it. I don't even think the mileage up there in the voting area is an option for me lol Does, 2 or 3 times a year mean anything?

I change mine every 8000kms with 5w30 Royal Purple.
Now that I spray, i'll change it every 2000 miles and im now using mobil 1 5-30 synthetic instead of 10-30 syn

I aim for 10,000 km actually in the winter, with 10w30 Royal. In the summer I change it more often. But I also don't drive the car much so the viscosity and crap inside it I'm sure is bad after months of not being changed. Wow I don't feel so bad saying 10 now :)

well regular oil is suppose to be changed at 6000km so I figured it wouldn't be that bad to extend synthetic oil to 8000kms.

Depends on the miles put on between changes. I change mine 2-3 times a year, but it is around 7000 miles per change with mostly highway driving.

Actually 3,750 miles +/-. I got a service package with my purchase deal which is good for 10 changes up to 37,500 miles and two 15 point inspections at 15k and 30k miles. My dealer uses Pennzoil 5-30,good oil but not my preference. After 37,500 I will be using Mobil 5000 5-30.and continuing since 7,500 with using X1-R engine treatment concentrate.

4-4500 usually. I drive the "perfect" route. 3.5 miles slow steady speeds until it's warm and then highway for 24 miles to work. Valvoline 10W-30 and OEM filter.

Every 3,000 or a little over. Usually use 10W-40. I change the oil myself unless I have to rotate the tires then I go into my car place.

I always change it at about 3,000 miles. If I stall out due to hydro-locking issues, I will change the oil right away then wait a week and change it again.
The last time I hydro-locked I had just changed the oil like 4 days before, so I went again the next day and changed it, then went again the next weekend. they told me the oil looked fine but I didn't want to take the chance. I've beenn through too many engines...

K&N Oil Filter
Mobil 1 Full Synthetic
I change my oil like every 8K miles. I just did mine today, and the bolt that was on there was so damn rusty, I had to pay a pro to do the oil change for me ($8.) I dont think the plug was replaced last time I got one.

Most auto parts stores take used oil and filters at no charge. Some quickie lube places will also. Check with your city/county and see if they have a local drop off point for oil. Heck, even the Wal-Mart may take your used oil, just ask them.

On the 01 elantra, every 3,500-4,000miles, regular.
With the 04 Accent, 5-6,000 miles, synthetic. It's the guniea pig.

When this poll was written, I voted "you have to change the oil" in a drunken haze because it made me laugh.
In reality, I change my oil every 8000km (5000miles)
