Thats right, my car was stolen this morning, however the local pd and fired dept, found it ingulffed in flames. I cant believe it I just bought the car like 4 weeks ago and now this, the car looks to be a total loss, sorry I dont have pics tow truck took it quick.    whats weird is that they burned the interior of the car and the motor is basically fine, I am told by the plice that is becoming normal the crooks burn it to erase evidence then follow the wreck and steal the motor  So in either case it sucks. Just thought I would share, my insurance company said they only give me $10 a day for a rental which is rediculous. I could scream right now.

Rest in peace tibby
holy sh*t that sucks man.. i'd be on a killing rampage right about now.. and the $10 a day is the icing on the cake. i'd seriously consider switching insurance companies. what company are you using?

I have allstate insurance I just switched to them about six months ago I did save alot of money like they advertise on tv but $10 a day sucks. I would feel funny if i switched after this incident, I dont know.

Dude, that sucks!
So they end up stealing the engine from the lot that it gets towed to? What kind of crap is that? That would make me want to stalk the lot and see who picks up the engine.
Where was it? Do you know how it happened?

Right now I am playing the arcade so I cool down.
FYI, you can change the amount of coverage you have for a rental car with Allstate. Your agent did a bad job if he/she set you up with only $10 rental coverage unless you told him/her you wanted to cheapest option available. Uping the rental coverage to $20 or $30 a day would only increase your premium a couple bucks a month if that.
hm.. i have allstate too.. and when i was without a car they covered the rental completely. i used Enterprise, mainly because allstate and enterprise are like this *crosses fingers*. what rental company were you gonna use? also, talk to your insurance agent and ask him/her if theres any specific rental company that they would give you more for. sometimes, getting pissy at them works too.

   :(
Oh man that sucks!
Did you lose anything else like CDs or anything?
The only good thing I can think of is that you hadn't done any expensive mods yet, right?
I'll bet they used a slim-jim to pop the door instead of breaking a window.
I'm just glad it was a theft instead of a car-jacking, so that you weren't hurt or anything. Hope everything works out OK.

Hmm I will look into the rental thingy I do have a friend in the car biz still so I am working out ride through that route now because I told the claim adjuster to get bent with the 10 dollar offer. I lost only a few cds 10 dollars worth of change a t-shirt and two snowbrushes oh and I keep a few nic nacks in the center console that I lost. It could have been worse I am glad I decided to make mp3s for my room mate and he is borrowing most of my cd's phew.

Damn dude I truly feel for you because I knew how excited you were a couple weeks back when you got your car. I guess the good thing is that you didn't really have anything too valuable in the car.
The $10 a day sucks, but some people opt out for rental coverage. Imagine having to pay full price for a rental car. I guess the $10 wouldn't sound too bad compared to 30 or more per day. You can always upgrade that in the future and it shouldn't incrase your insurance premium by much.
I know that it's hard to look at the bright side of things right now, but at least your car was stolen within the first month. If my car were to be stolen at this point, I would owe more than what it's worth.

$10 sucks pretty bad. But what bothers me about the situation is that the cops know that these theives stal the motor from the lot. Wouldn't you think that they could have caught the dirty bastards by now???

Damn, I hate stupid *** theives.
I hope the insurance gets everything straightened out. If you can try to bum rides off people until you get the car so you don't have to pay for a rental.
Another Tiburon or something different now?

Maybe you said this and I missed it, but how's your insurance going to reimburse you? Are they going to give you enough for another new Tib, or what the car is worth (minus the depreciation after you drove off the lot). Just wondering if they're gonna stick it to you on that end too?
Oh, and why the hell does someone want to steal stock a tibby motor?

Wouldn't you think that they could have caught the dirty bastards by now??? I believe it is rent a car thru the insurance company (& they pay for it) or if you don't want to rent a car you get $ 10 a day, that is how it is with my State Farm. I have done it both ways.
Sorry to get semi off topic.
Stealing cars is a big business. I had my 7 year old mini van with 155K miles on it, stolen in Wash DC. it was driving 4 miles from where I parked it & left in a no parking zone, where it was towed to a "lot" where it sat for 29 days, per the law of Wash DC, & then reported to the police. my insurance company had to pay $ 32 per day for 31 days ($ 992) to "recover" the van. I still "owned" the contence of the inside of the van. When we saw the van, EVERYTHING we had in the van was still in it, even the cell phone. the only damage to the van was where they used a screw driver to pop open the drivers door lock & took out the ignition. The car was just a clean & neat as I left it. it went to a "dealers only auction & the insurance got $ 950 for the van (I paid 1200 with fees). I bought the van back, since I maintain my cars very well & all I had to get was get touch up paint & an ignition swtich & the van was drivable again. I had a harder time with PennDOT trying to re register the van, that took over 2 months. I drove it for 2 more year till it got rear ended & totalled & I got my Elantra GT. I hope for the best for you , it does suck BIG time to have your car stolen..... I feel your pain
car couldnt have more then 2-3k miles on it?? it was only a few weeks ago they should give you a brandy new 05 White Tibby, and catch those stupid ****ers

 Man I really hate this I get one adjuster who says its totaled and then transfers me to another adjuster who is taking his sweet time, and I am running out of time, I live in WA and have to move back to IL in a week and a hlaf and this has been like 11 days already. I dont know allstate's tv ads say they work fast but I was just told by my agent it may take up to thirty days. Think twice if you are switching to allstate.
