It really depends what you mean by "reflective tint".
I mean, pretty much ALL tint film is reflective.

I could be wrong, but I think you're referring to mirror tinting.
I can't recall anybody here having mirrored tinting, and I don't recommend it due to the hazard it causes other drivers (insane reflections), unless it is legal in TX, I'm not sure.

Here's a couple of cars with mirror tinting:

20% back, 30% front is a good blend though, and you'll be happy with the darkness.

Edit #87: Found the elantra I was thinking of earlier. 'Tis a Korean ride from memory.

mirror tint is illegal everywhere, even in Florida with no tint law really.

You will get pulled over. alot.

I had mirror tint on a car and never got any rouble for it. they sell it in legit tinting places, and the lexus rx 300 comes with a similar tint from the factory.

I can understand how a true mirror tint would be illegal, but I dont think what these guys are talking about is a true mirror.

and the fact that its not black and absorbing sunlight will supposedly keep the car cooler.

That is true....the lexus does come with the refc. tint...and I don't see them gettin pulled over. The again it is only the very back rear windows not all round

reflective, i mean 100% mirror tint on the drivers side is 100% illegal in every state.

You can tint the rear glass and rear doors mirror, but it would look wierd without all the windows done. Another option is to get the faded mirror to black that i have seen, although i think thats hideous..

i agree with sed i've seen a cavalier with mirror fade to black and it doesn't look good at all, it had it on front and rear windows.

The deal on tint is that pretty much any tint shop will do an illegal tint on a car. They just make you sign a waiver when you take delivery so that if you get pulled over and hassled you can't come back to them whining about it. I have metal film tint in my car, it looks exactly like the WRX in the pictures above, my percentage is 25% all the way around (ten percent beyond legal in VA) and of all the time I've been pulled over (and it has been A LOT ) I have never been hassled about it. On the other hand we had the same shop do the same tint on my wifes 04 Subaru Forester (bone stock, slow as molasses) and she got a 85$ compliance ticket for her tint, so it has more to do with luck of the draw than anything about the tint laws. Remember that as long as you aren't out doing smoky burnouts and speeding through school zones at two in the morning your tint is unlikely to ever become an issue. thats just my two cents hope that helps a little.

^ I agree totally. Most cops will let it go if its something like, you ran a yellow light or failure to yield, or illegal lane change, BUT remember, it IS illegal and some cops DO NOT like modified cars... Its just mirror tint is something that is easier spotted to the layman, Some cops can't tell the difference of legal and not legal by sight. If you have mirror, then its obviously illegal....

Also, What i am talking about is Mirror Tint. Not 25%, 30%, mirror, like a one way mirror @ a police station to clarify my statement.

yeah, anything that you cant see through is illegal. I dont know of any tint shops that sell real mirror reflective covering, though it would be kind of neat.

im sure no cop likes to walk up to a window that they cant see into, which is why one should always roll the windown down before the officer gets there.
