How long have you driven your Elantra in one trip?

I'm guessing you meant the last option to be Over 1000 miles. We did a 2100 mile round trip this spring. That would be the 3rd such trip in it.

My '05 is too new to have traveled, but my old '03 went, to be exact, 6,681 miles (Pittsburgh - Yosemite - Bay area - Mount Hood - Yellowstone - home). That was in the good old days of last summer, when the most expensive gas was $2.38 a gallon near Yosemite (sniff, sniff...) These days, I can't afford to go as far as Cleveland.
At least the car tolerated the trip well, averaged almost 35 mpg, no chips in the windshield and only a couple that I could see in the paint.

Haven't taken any real long trips yet, the longest drive I've been for was 250 miles in the Elantra.
Done the Melb<->Sydney trip plenty of times though, that's 530 miles each way. Just not in the Elantra yet!

Well, I drive between Houston and OK City about 3-4 times a year, 487 miles each way. Last time coming back, I did it non-stop with 2 gallons of gas left.
I guess I selected wrong, I just selected 1 way, not round trip.

Anyone else think the XD has some hard backbuster seats for a long trip? Then again it's a $10k car so can't complain too much. Mine lacks cruise control so any trip over about 200 miles & my foot will start to fall off.

Well I did the Melbourne---> Sydney--->Melbourne trip a few months ago.
That would be 1060 miles approx.
When I drive long distances, I love not stopping, and getting a good MPG.
8 hours each way and I was comfortable as!
I was pretty dissapointed I couldn't do the 530 miles on a single tank though. :(

the 03 has made too many trips to remember but when i first bought it i had to go from north Pa to maine and back twice
the 04 just got back from FL we drove it down there aswell so it ended up being like 3000 or so
i like our seats!! i find them to be comfy...i do however find the leather seats to more comfortable than the cloth ones wifey has

I've driven the car between North Carolina and New York (750 +/- miles) probably 10 or 12 times altogether. My car has 82,000 miles on it.
My back never really hurts because I adjust everything right, but my shoulder does from holding my hand on top of the steering wheel. Usually hurts for a day or so after a trip like that.

Not an Elantra but I drove from Portland, OR to Fort Polk, LA in 3 days by myself. Over 2800 miles one way. That was when my car was just under 1000 miles on it. Cutting up the Grand Canyon with the Eibachs on was amazing. I got my Spec5 up to 140 on I-10 going to San Antonio from El Paso. Right after I slowed down there was a state trooper on the other side of the next hill. That would've been sh*tty.

1500 miles one way, plus about 1000 miles of driving around there then there was the return trip.
Toronto to Halifax, I stayed in Canada all the way so don't have an exact distance reference, have to pull out the receipts and their mileage records.
Receipts? Yes, lol, what better way to track the trip afterwards, knowing you were here on this day for those that are going to hassle you on it when you get back.

I used the Elantra to move from Arizona to Indiana. I was able to fit everything I needed into the trunk and back seat.
Trip totalled around 1900 miles. I averaged about 35mpg (pretty nice for an autotragic coupled with mostly driving about 80mph), and I don't have cruise control. Had to switch feet a few times, haha.. but the seats supported me well enough to where I didn't have any death-defying lapses.
Other than that, nothing big. Longest trip otherwise was around 220 miles round trip.

I have a 2003 Elantra GLS. Stock everything except the receiver and XM radio.
This summer I drove 1100 miles from Austin, TX to Cheyenne, WY in one day (18 hours). It was quite a haul. That's my personal best for miles in a day. I regularly drive 800 miles to Tennessee from Austin. It takes about 13.5 hours.
My personal best for miles without stopping was a couple of years ago when I drove from just outside Cheyenne, WY, to Lincoln, NE. It was 500 miles.
My best gas mileage was obtained on a stretch of road in Northern Texas up through Oklahoma and in to Colorado. I got 55 mpg on that leg. Not too shabby. I regularly get above 45mpg on long road trips using high octane fuel or octane booster.
Highest speed was 115 mph obtained on a deserted highway somewhere in Wyoming. The speed was still climbing when I backed off for safety reasons.
