I was behind a 05 Altima Yesterday and I thought to my self that the tails look to be the similair shape of the Elantras, so I photoshopped them on my car. What do you guys think? I am not even sure I like them, its just a idea.

They are very similarly shaped, that's for sure. Maybe more similar to an XD rather than an XD2.

But, they are still eww in my book. Nice chop though.

If you masked out the chrome with vinyl I bet it would look 100x better.

I was looking at the previous generation passats taillights on the way home today too, looks like with minimal work they will fit and there are some nice aftermarket tails out there for the passat...

I was on the freeway yesterday and saw a fairly new Suzuki Esteem and I could have sworn it was an XD2 from the back.

i think of that everytime i see an altima...im too lazy to measure and check....everytime i get motivated, i think of how much work it would take and give up before i start. hmm

I think the altima tails are actaully alot bigger but I now a guy who makes custom tails, but he would need a Elantra and they would cost maby $350.00 to $500.00 US to make.

Nice chop VTElantra.
I think they would look very good on a black or white XD/XD2.
What's an Altima!??!

Nice chop.

Unfortunately, the fantasy of altezza lights will never come true, and never die. If it were doable, don't we think someone would have done it already? (I know about the few DIY altezza redo's overseas, but I mean an easier madified swap).

You guys can go to this site and send them emails try to get them to make custom tails, but like I said they would be expensive.

I really don't think it would be that hard to make custom taillights

Its just a question of what you want them to look like. Clears would be the eaiest, just get another set, break the red and use clear plexi and heat bend it to match, wouldn't be that hard at all....

I just don't have a set of taillights lying around i can mess with

I had a taillight I got back when I had motivation... here's a good way to get some 'practice' lights, as it's how I got mine.

Look on ebay for people buying taillights - it's usually people who need a replacement.

Email the people bidding on it, and ask them if they win the auction, can you buy their old taillight for $5 (with already cracked lense - yay for them starting the work).

Instant project set, for less than $20 a pair (with shipping).

I don't think that even swapping some altima tails or something else would be that difficult, but it would definately require cutting/filling of the panel next to the light as well as a re-paint of that panel... Hell ive seen beamer headlights and benz tails retrofitted to some piece of **** on 'pimp my ride' like that.

oh and i think the actual result would look much better than the chop. the relative size and shape of the tail was modified in the chop to make it fill the space of the old light, which isnt really possible, the body would have to be modified to accomodate the light...

and finally, the reason this stuff doesn't get done to elantras is simple. it's about money. people with money to burn on customizing cars certainly dont drive elantras...
