NEW columbus meet 7/24/05

ok. new plans for a meet. sunday the 24th as before, if anyone coming from far away will be staying saturday night, we can go to hooters for the columbusracing.com meets (sorry guys...i forgot meet was on sunday...they meet fri/sat night) so we can do that, and have a day long meet on sunday

cookout, mods (if you have a stock exhaust w/ 65k miles, dont plan on putting on a cat-back *expierience* lol), maybe dave (2loud2k2xd) would be willin to bring his things again, etc etc

yeah....super 8 will be cheap. if you dont wanna drive far from my place, check for springhill suites, townplace suites, candlewood suites (all on taylor rd in gahanna, oh) or the holiday in express on waterbury ct

well, i wasnt going for price. like i said, the ones i listed are all less than 2 miles from my house, where the meet will be. brice rd is about 10-15 min, and broad/main are about 10 min each. if you want to save $, just search for hotels near gahanna ohio, let me know which one you wanna stay at, and ill let you know how far away it is

I was searching rentersburg, just cause that's where Hooters is and I figured they wouldn't want to go too far after. That way they could get up in the morn, check out and head over to Evan's and still be there by 12

ok...list updated in 1st post...8 so far (which is only 2-3 off from the last one) i think there will be a couple people coming from rdtib and hoping for a couple from NT. 10-15 will still be a hell of a good turnout

also, if anyone else has mods to do, please post them

so far, we have

fuel pump swap from 2loud2k2xd to me (since i have a 190 and want a stock one, and he needs a 190)

spark plugs and wires for cornbread

*chance* of and exhaust swap (which shouldnt take too long since the bolts are all new)

im thinking what we should do, is get the fuel pump swap and plugs/wires done, and any other small stuff, go out and get some group pics (2 ish), then come back, drink beer, cook food, and work on any larger mods (if the exhaust happens, if anyone has springs or somethign etc etc)

the slave cylinder mod is SUPER quick and easy... plus it dosen't need to be done in a garage!! I can help you w/ that Hoaf cause I did it to my car. Just bring some new fluid for the tranny and a bleeder if possible because we'll need to bleed/refill your fluid after we take out the restrictor.

i may (if time) do the throttle body coolant by-pass. i think its only a 10 minute job, huh?

yeah...for the muffler, i have no welder, nor do i know anyone who does. clutch fluid is just brake fluid (if i remember correctly) which i have some of. dave, pull one of the hoses going to the TB (its going to spill) figure out what size it is, then go to the hardware store and get some sort of tube to connect those 2, and a couple clamps, which is all youll need

keyan, you comin up the night before to go to the meet @ hooters and then go get some grub afterwards

well the ipod dock can fit into the tray, it just needs some thing to hold it in place.

not far at all...the 3 main roads this side of town are Hamilton, Broad, then Main, all within 3-4 miles on the freeway, and you gotta get off hamilton to get to my place.

put it this way. i can drive from my house to your hotel 10 min max. theres an easier way to get there, ill let you know when you get here...main is a busy st, and you can go about 2 miles past main, and take a freeway right to brice and the hotel is right off the freeway. sounds confusing, but its not

and hooters is on main, so just around the corner, about 5 min

70E to 270N to Hamilton Rd, get off hamilton, go to right, go down till the intersection where BP/5th3rd bank is (about 3/4 mile from freeway, 3rd light i believe; havens corner rd), turn right, go to light (about 3/4 mile) where st matthews church is, turn right onto helmbright, go to stop sign, turn left onto caroway, go up the hill, 8th house on left...sits caddy corner on the corner of caroway and thayer (white siding, green and brick front). im 27-30 min from buckeye lake, depending on how bad i need to get out there and traffic. never more than 30 min from my house to the lake though

yes...for everyone else, directions will 95% of the time bring you in down 70e/w or 71 n/s. from either, get on 270, youre going towards the east side of columbus, get to hamilton, go north (left off the exit if youre coming 270s and right if youre coming 270n) and follow those

ok...heres a map...really not to scale, but the big circle is i270, and shows the major freeways youll probably be coming down. you need to get to the red dot, and follow the arrows. it seems like havens corners extends past 270 on the north side, but like i said, its a mile from the freeway max, as well as helmbright being max 1 mile from hamilton, and maybe 1/4 mile to caroway from havens corner

My radio reception is ok in town and about 20 miles out. Once I get to about 30 miles out reception really suffers, but thats what cd's are for. Like the look of it. I am very satisfied with cutting the antenna down. Aside from the hassle of getting the ball to stay on after the chop.
