I have an 05 elantra, and I was wondering about a couple things.

I am planning to do a few things to the car, but am not exactly too sure on how to go about doing them and what not.

first, i plan on tinting the windows. does anyone know what a good rate to get this done is? I don't want to go somewhere and get ripped off. Also is there any general information I should know about tints?

secondly, I am playing with the idea of getting a sun-roof put in. How plausible is this? Approx how much would this cost?

Lastly, I am also considering picking up a spoiler of some type. It's a 4door gls sedan, and I'm not looking for anything flashy... so something along the lines of a lip or a low spoiler. now for this particular piece, I am considering doing it myself, but I was wondering roughly speaking, how hard it is to do, and where I should shop for it. Any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks!

Here in FL. most regular window tint will run about $125-150 for a car. The price will obviously go up if you get mirror tint or window tint graphics. The price may be higher where you live though.

here in nc tint rate is 75 to 180 for a good quality job. Go to spoilerdepot.com they have a nice spoiler for the 05

Welcome to the site.

Getting a quality tint job around here in NoVA is $200-220. I'd expect the same if you are in the Metro area of MD. Make sure they use 3M or Llumar (I think that's the name) tint, they seem to be the best tints available.

As for a sunroof, it would have been a lot easier to get one from the factory. I think the dealer charges a lot to put on in later on. There are some threads about this, I'd do a search for better results.

Also, you can get the OEM 04-05 (XD2) GT spoiler, it's pretty standard looking, nothing too exotic.

Good luck. (See you at the Pittsburgh meet?).

you can get a sunroof installed relatively cheap (~$200?) but thats for the ones you gotta open by hand. also, very high chances of leaking in the future because it wasnt installed by the factory. and honestly.. it wouldnt be worth it.. no matter how good it looks. i thought i'd do it too when i first got my car.. but nah not for me. welcome to the site!

An extremely good tint job down in tx runs around 180. But you usualy get what you pay for. Cheap Jobs aren't good and good jobs aren't cheap.
