http://www.hyundainews.net/presskit2003/elantraspecs.html specs for the 2003 elantra, im sure the others are in there as well. It specifies 4.2 quarts for the 2003 crankcase. Just change the presskit2004 part in the link to whatever year you have and you're good to go.

Mine says 4.07 qts with a filter, but 4 gets me right at the full mark.

Odd... The manual for my '02 says 4.5 US Quarts for oil and filter change.

Part of that depends on what filter your using. If your using one of the smaller filters (Fram and Super Tech) 4 qts would be full, but if your using one of the oversized filters, you would be a touch low with just 4 qts.

2002 Elanta Manual says:" 4.5 quarts w/ filter, 4.2 quarst w/out filter". I have put 3.3 quarts (a little less approximately) after draining oil and replacing the filter (I poured about .1 quarts into it separately, prior to installation) and the probe read just above the "full" mark. So, use about 3 quarts alltogether to begin with and then add more oil to the system after checking the level, if necessary.
