Paypal is pretty secure. Espexially since they added their buyer protection program. It;s a pain to get them to give you your money back, but at least sometimes you get it back.

Dreamka only takes paypal.
Also, if you have a credit card, I'd recommend you use it, rather than debit. When I got ripped off on Motegi wheels I bought on Ebay, and paid through paypal using my Discover... paypal wouldn't do anything. I called Discovercard and they refunded my money right away.
I don't know if your debit card is backed by a big bank or anything, but if you have a card with online fraud protection, use that one.
my card has online fraud protection. i dont have enough of a credit history at the moment to apply and be approved for a credit card.. only 19 years old :P

I got my first Visa at 15 :ssst:
By the time I was 19, I had a Visa, Mastercard, and Discover... I don't recommend that with the temptations of young, irresponsible spending. I bounced back though.
did you have a co-signer? or was it only you?

When I was 16 I went on householdbank.com and applied for one of their mastercards. There is a card you can get if you have low on no credit. It's worth a try, they won't give you too big of a credit limit, but they up mine evry 6 months. Give them a try.

Only me. It helped that my dad's friend was on the board of directors for the bank. So I established credit on my Visa and then got my Discover and Mastercards, which carried rediculous limits for a 19 year old. Then, when I was in college - lifestyle exceeded income, and credit cards were the answer (wrong answer, that is). Took me almost a year of being poor after college to bounce back. I paid my car payment, my cell-phone bill, and kept $200 cash out per month - everything else went to C-cards. That was not a very fun year.
I've never had a co-signer for anything... unless my house counts, since that's under mine and my wife's name.
