i know we dont get these cars overhere but does anyone have a engine shot of the 1.6 dohc engine it comes with? is it the same one in the aveo?

I can bet it's not the same as the Aveo. The Aveo uses the daewoo Lanos 1.6 dohc. The getz is probably using the Accent 1.6.

They even have a new 1.1 CRDI engine that they are using in some markets.

Check out this site, there might be some pics of the engine bays. But yeah, it's definitely not the same engine as the Aveo.

i was talking to my friend in south america (ecuador) and he says they come with a 1.3 soch or a 1.6 doch. the reason im asking is because if i can get my hands on that 1.6 doch engine (not from the accent) i'd put that on the suzuki swift because he's studying engines and all that overthere and they're studying this engine right now and he says this engine is a perfect fit and all. he says the valve cover looks exactly the same as the one that came on the 1.3 twin cam swift but instead of saying that it says hyundai.

Interesting! According to the Equador Hyundai site they have these engines
Fuente de Potencia: 1,1L / 1,3L / 1,5L(Australia) / 1,6L
Not sure if that means they can or can't get the 1.5L

Yet another cheap, useless Korean vehicle. I'm now quite sure Koreans will buy anything if you just tell them it's good or put some fancy English word on it. You should hear those things rattle and squeak when they roll by. And that's the new ones. :)

As for the 1.5 and 1.6 liter engines, Hyundai Korea makes them for tax reasons here. You get taxed depending on how big your engine is. Anything 1.6 and under is significantly cheaper than say the 2.0 liter beast I have. The price of gas here is also pretty steep, which is why almost no one buys the 2.0 liter XD.
