Here's an update with pics from wrecked to fixed. Don't have a lot of time for mods right now, just started my own buisness, so when things slow down, then it will be mod time. Thanks for looking.

Sorry to hear about your mishap dude. I thought it was gonna look a lot worse than that when you said wrecked, but good luck with the repair. Hope you get your baby back to new soon. =)

Actually, I bought it wrecked. I've wanted a gt ever since I bought my Accent gt, but wanted a Elantra. This way I'll have a almost new gt without the carpayment. My you're right, it will be my new baby ;) :owned:

Ahhhh I get it now. Sorry, I must not have been thinking straight! That's a pretty sweet deal for only $1,000. On top of that you know how to fix it yourself and got the hookup on getting it painted. You're gonna love the car, especially if it's a 5 speed. :)

Was there anything wrong, mechanically speaking, when you got it? New fan and radiator? Bodywork looks good.

Wow! $1,000 is a heck of a deal. The damage doesn't even look that bad. Is there any other damage other than cosmetic (motor, radiator, fan, AC condensor, core support). Either way that is an awesome find. Good luck with the repair.
I wrecked my 03' GLS about eight months ago and took out the right headlight, front bumper, right fender, fender liner, front right door, dented the right rear door and quarter. I did collision repair at the time so I did all the repairs except the paint work myself. It didn't save me any money because my insurance paid for the damage ($3500) but it was pretty cool doing all that work on my own car.

The lower radiator support had to be pulled $450), the upper-center radiator supper had to be changed (6 bolts very easy, $45), both headlights ($150), bumper cover, absorber, reinforcement ($210, $45, $110), grill ($110), radiator, condensor, both fans, ($100, $85, $110), hood ($285). That's about it.

$1700 parts +$1000 car + time (and thanking your brother for the painting) = helluva deal!
