View Full Version : i know this probably isnt the right place for it
but i'm going to do this anyway.
if any of you are religious and pray.. please pray for my mom and my grandma. they were t-boned saturday evening and my mom's car went through a brick wall. i will give full details later. i will not be on for a few days (though i doubt anyone would really notice).
mom was in ICU for a night, my grandmother was in CCU for a night. right now they're both in normal hospital beds, so please just pray for a safe return home.
thank you in advance

You don't need to pray, God reads minds, and right now I'm wishing for a quick and full recover for your family. I hope this terrible accident will just be a bad memory for you really, really soon.

Will do bro!!! Best wishes
thank all of you. they're recovering fast and should return home within the next few days.
as soon as the trial is over, i will have pictures of the damage etc etc. the other lady decided to get an attorney because she thinks my mom ran a red light. theres 4 witnesses who say that my mom had a green light, and the other lady ran it.
its really a miracle that the injuries weren't worse.
thank you again

They'll be in my prayers. I'm glad they're getting better.
thank you all for your prayers/wishes/thoughts etc. it really means a lot to me. they just arrived at home, safe and sound. thank you all again :) now its just time to heal and time to defend ourselves in court.
the other lady who hit my mom's car ran a red light. it wasnt a light that just turned from yellow to red. it had been red for quite some time, id say at least 10 seconds or so. anyway, my mom got t-boned and her car went through a brick wall. i have pics of the wall, my mom's car, and the car that hit her car. i dont think its the right time to show it mainly because the other lady has gotten an attorney (we have one now too) and this is going to court. so once thats over, you'll see the damage done. there were at least 3 people who saw what happened, and all three are saying what did happen -- the other lady ran a red light, t-boned my mom's car. so hopefully this will all be a bad memory just like Mr. Dan said... but it will take a while because of the legal matters. thank you all, once again.

see if you can have the cops do a road report or whatever its called on skid marks and stuff. they probably already did if they are good cops.
basically what they did was get the witnesses to state what happened and drew a map according to that. idk if thats what you're talking about
i've taken pics of the skid marks, the wall, and both cars

you're golden
you should counter sue for emotional distress, trauma and false accusations . . . you're gonna need the money for the lawyer lol
small claims court or traffic court? or some other court? *crosses fingers for small claims to be the answer* if its small claims, they award big bucks there. e.g. if you counter sue for $2365.97 for damages you get it, plus 50k for being t-boned and having the lady accuse you of being at fault. an example of course. but you COULD ask for damages other than physical/material. emotional distress for 25k etc. be humble and lowball a LITTLE, not too much and you should be good. of course, follow your lawyers advice not mine

Sorry to hear what happened hope they're doing better .
first of all.. thank you all again. they're doing just fine, they're home now. my mom is using a walker to walk, but last night somehow she walked to my room and back w/o it. amazing.
grandma is fine too. both have 2-3 broken ribs, grandma has a fracture in her arm and my mom has a fracture in her leg. but they're ok :)

i honestly dont know what court its in. im expecting it to be in small claims because my uncle is an accountant/lawyer and he checked out the lawyer we are using. he said he was good. as far as money goes.. we're just trying to get the medical bills out of the way. my mom spent 1 night in ICU (~$9000) and grandma spent on night in CCU (~$8000) plus whatever expenses there are. as long as we get the medical bills out of the way, thats good enough for us. maybe a little extra could help with a downpayment for an 06 sonata for my mom? :P thanks again everyone

To tell you the truth, I say you file a lawsuit. You will get a lot of $$ I'll tell you right now. Probably enough to pay for 1 or 2 Sonata's cash. I work in the litigation dept of one of the largest law firms in the nation. Trust me, I know...

that really would be nice.. have a couple extra cars on hand :) but i dont know the specifics of the attorney thing right now. my dad is handling all that, and im the run around guy. i pretty much drive everyone where they need to be right now (sister, aunt, mom, grandma) because now we're down to 2 cars and my dad is at work from like 7am-6pm. i'll ask him about it and see whats going on with that. all i know is that our lawyer was 110% confident in winning the case. its pretty obvious too.. because of the witnesses and the police report etc etc. i'll update w/ specifics later
DAILLESTWUN.. if i was to post pics of the cars online.. would that affect the case at all? like.. would the other attorney be all like "oh those pictures have been doctored blah blah blah"?
