well every one FLYRYDE.com is going to start pushing body components out for the xd community. so let me know what you guys want. body kits, wings, hoods, fenders. you let me know and i will push for it to get done. some of these parts may take a few months to get the first set out the door, but thats the nature of the beast when we are trying to get things rolling.

Get the R34 kit for a reasonable price...

Bodykits already exist, but are expensive.

There are a good number of wing/spoiler options out there.

Hoods are hard to find, more would be good, especially at a reasonable price.

NOBODY MAKES DIRECT REPLACEMENT FENDERS, THOUGH. Those would be nice to have available.

DAILLESTWUN... i will let him know about the r34 kit and will se what he can do about the price.

hyunelan2... yes there is a wealth of stuff out there for the 01-03 guys but for the 04-05 guys its a lil tougher. but if there are any styles of kits out there that you like that we dont have for our cars. im sure he will try and accomidate us. also i will tell him that there might be some interest in fenders. what where you thinking in the way of fenders carbon or fiberglass?

lip kits would be nice. $1100 for the M&S is rediculous. maybe a nice, clean lip kit for like $400-500? fender flares, grills, eyelines, lip spoilers. id be interested in the trunk garnish without the keyhole or crooked H symbol, just smooth.(all for the 04-05) just nice and smooth. im sure anything thats made, thats reasonably priced would sell here. everyone likes different stuff.

I would say fiberglass fenders. I doubt many people here are interested in weight reduction to the point of needing cf over fg... and the trend around here is the cheaper the better, so you're likely to have a higher success with fg fenders. Just take note of where to put vents... functional beats appearance only - and where the strut tower is, for it to be a functional vent, it will need to be closer to the front, not the rear of the panel... but I haven't explored this to the extreme.

Carbon fiber hood for the J2's, which I doubt will be able to get done.

I'd like to see Elantra-specific side skirts that aren't too outrageously styled or priced. Just a simple sideskirt that extends down 1 or 1-2/2" and has a slight outward flare... and perhaps some back corner under-bumper pieces to flow the sideskirt lines back into the body like on the Toyota Corolla "S".

i would like to see a nice lip kit that doesnt cost two arms and a leg. i know they can be made cheaper because damn honda lip kits are dime a dozen i used to own one. so if you guys can get a guy to fabricate a lip kit thats affordable then cool same with the hood cF is nice but how about a fiberglass vader hood for the guys that can afford the cF but want the look fenders would be nice also since hondas have them why can they mod one for the elantra its just a fender with a grill not to say its easy but the idea is there just the car isn't as popular as a honda not now but maybe if theese things come out and people know then hey it could be the next honda. cause hondas are getting way to hight now. as for spoiler i like a nice fiberglass or cF lip spoiler like the one that matches the evo kit i know they sell it but some place want like 300 bucks for the damn thing i have found one place but they dont have them in stock. ohh and one that would be really nice would be some projector headlight come on if they can make it for just about every other car why not ours. just my 2 cents. hey and if chris needs a car to protype some of the stuff just hollar i have met chris before at his mom and dads house before. i dont mind driving down again.

$400-$600 Lip kit. I agree with fiberglass vented fenders, but everything has to be at reasonable cost, I know alot of us bought the car becasue of the price but we shouldn't have to make up for it with $1100-$2200 body kits, etc. I would like to see a roof spoiler like TNT had a while ago from a celica I think, and I would also like more grills to choose from that are low cost.

that genious style lip kit would be hella sweet on an XD2, i know id be in on one. but 825 + shipping just for lips is kinda steep.

Ok, here are my thoughts...

Start with a simple product, get it produced and sold, see how that works out for everybody, then move on to another product.

I good starting project would probably be a grill or spoiler, maybe the CF hood you have been working on.

Once these products are available then move on to things that are more extreme like fenders and body kits.

Please don't copy any of the kits available (in North America), I'm sure someone can come up with a nice design that isn't available here.

very good itemsfor our crowd would be:

GRILLES
LIP KITS
REAR WINDSHIELD SPOLERS

and fenders for me.. but not too extreme

Thanks for all your opinions folks. I will relay the info and see what the folks over at flyryde wana start on next after the 04-05 hoods get finished.

I understand that everyone wants a great price.

why dont you guys throw up some links to lip/body kits you guys like that arent available for our cars. and we may be able to get them to work those up for us. Well if that what the masses want first. You guys tell me what you want for the next project.

try to design a kit that follows the body lines of the car so it looks like it belongs on the car!!!

ABQelantra
07-21-2005, 04:44 PM
so something mild and tastefull. that would alow enough airflow for an intercooler if someone decided to turbo... or something like that.

What I was thinking was a lip kit similar to this one on the factory Toyota: http://toyota.jbcarpages.com/Corolla/2005/Bilder/2005%20Toyota%20Corolla%20S%20Red%20rear%20left.jp g

Maybe a bit more subdued... those stick out a bit too far IMO.

You can see more pics of their design here: http://toyota.jbcarpages.com/Corolla/2005/index5.php

That should be pretty simple and inexpensive to make.

i've hated the stock lip kits on corolla S since day one...esp. the rear...it does not belong there at all imo

kylemorg
07-22-2005, 04:19 PM
I think the kit looks wierd on the Corolla 'cause it's so narrow and tall. On an Elantra, however, I think something similar would look good.

Some New Body Kits for the XD2. There's 89.5 body kits for the XD and just one for the XD2. A choice of hoods, spoilers, lights... etc.

i'd have to agree the rear roof spoiler for the hatch back as well as the sedan

07-23-2005, 08:53 PM
how about a fiberglass vader hood for the guys that can afford the cF

I agree with this, doesn't have to be the vader hood per se, but you will probably see more sales if you could do a good quality vented/vader style with cheaper fiberglass. I have seen these threads start all the time, everyone wants cf and different styles, then when there is an agreement on the style no one buys because of the price that cf brings with it.

how about producing some of the KDM wings in CF?? like the 04 hatch wing!
