Yeah, most of us have seen them before, I don't think anyone has them though. Probably the reason for that is that they are the tailight lens only, not the whole tailight assembly. Meaning that you have to remove the stock lens (you actually have to break them off), and then put the clear ones on. Not to mention that clear tailights are illegal.

I have them for the XD. I've had them for probably 3 years, right now they are sitting in my trunk with an extra set of taillights I got so that I could break them and flush install the lenses. Well, yeah, I haven't gotten very far because I'm lazy and I want to do it perfect, which means "shaving" parts of the lenses off because they are meant to fit over the taillight as a cover, so in turn they are a little larger.
The probably stick up a 1/8 inch if you just stick them on. They don't look too bad that way, but, I've always wanted the flush look.

clear tailights are illegal.
False, there are plenty of clear tail lights that have been DOT approved. The light itself can be clear as long as it follows the general scheme a car should have.
Night running tail lights must illuminate red and be visible from xxx feet away. tail lights must light more intensely when brakes are applied and be visible from xxx feet away. Tail lights must contain variable amber illuminating blinkers visible from xxx feet away for signaling. That aside the other functions do not necessarily have to be found in the tail light itself. You must have a pair of red reflectors on the rear portion of the car, this can be located anywhere, typically when not found in the light itself they are found in the lower rear bumper (see most european cars). And finally, you need white illuminating lights somewhere on the rear of the car for reverse and these also don't have to be part of the actual tail light.
Oh and i put the 'xxx feet away' thing there to let you know there are actual laws that state how far away they need to be visible from, so smoking your break lights is almost always illegal unless you live in some backwards *** state like kentucky. Lighting, when using clear tails, is usually accomplished with leds...

Yeah but those tailights come stock. Anybody with a gram of common sense should know that I was talking about aftermarket tails. If xd's came with clear tails from the factory and had to go through all the DOT and safety inspections the OEM tailights do, then im sure that clear tails would be fine on that too, but they don't.

I have a kilo-gram of common sense and i didn't know. Many aftermarket tail lights that arn't made by the manufacturer are DOT approved. Making your own lights will of course be illegal because they have not been approved, but as long as you follow the general scheme stated above you shouldn't have a problem with cops.
