So my gf is coming up to visit tomorrow and I want my car clean... so I waxed it (except the trunk lid, bumper and rear quaters they where just repainted.. the lid was just redone this week actauly others 2-3 weeks ago) anyways I dryed the back off with a towel or 2 after I was done washing and damn it looks so scratched up is it just because it doesnt have wax or what?

Also another ****ty thing along the black lining on the roof there's a sandpaper feeling in the paint that lines both sides and its about 3 inches wide and runs the whole way.... you can only see it in the light at night to does anyone else have this the only thing i'v got up there that lined the whole thing was back to black about a month or 2 ago but the body shop reclearcoated the door lining up from the quater panels to the front so it would be even you think they did it?

I used a clay bar on my car a while back, and it desperately needed it. In the process of cleaning the crap off the surface I scratched the clear coat quite a bit, despite being very very careful. It looked really shiny and clean, but under certain light looked scratched and crappy, then I waxed it and they all disappeared, now it looks fantastic. Maybe your body shop did the same thing.

its like it was sanded down its not scratches unless its a big 3 inch wide scratch lol that runs down the whole side :eek: and I waxed the roof 2 times.. nothing still like that

did you take your **** to maaco? i did (before i knew about maaco) and i gott the same **** except its on the bottom of the rear bumper, right where the hood meets the grille, and a couple other places. and clear is coming up everywhere, adn paint falling off. ive written maaco corporate a nice big letter, but cant find an address to send it to

nah local body shop he's a friend of the family they are a certified duplicolor shop to... is that where the clear is coming up? I'v already been back to the shop to have the trunk lid repainted 2 times and 3-4 scratches looked at that where fixed in the past but why would the roof be messed up unless they used a bigass sander?

could be a patch of clear overspray... maybe

^^^ That's what I was thinking. Oversrpay would leave you with that 'sandpaper' feel. Take it back and thell them it wasn't like that when you brought it in. If they won't do anything, claybar works great on removing overspray.

went to bodyshop he got it off then he *****ed at me cuz i had some wax on hood still and had mad swirls so i did the hood with rubbing w/e and waxed it 2 times looks great
