So I'm going to get my windows tinted tomorrow. The total price is $175 with a lifetime warranty. My inital though was to go 35% all around. What is your personal taste of what you think will look good on my car pictured below.

Don't know about your local laws, but my particular preferance is tint that won't get you pulled over. Getting the fine for the tint and having to strip it isn't the bad part, it's the chance that I'll get pulled over coming home at 2:30 in the morning on some Saturday night and end up doing field sobriety tests for an hour (not that I wouldn't pass, but I'd hate the hassle).
That being said - if you can't tint the fronts, don't go too dark on the rears or it'll look kinda funny. Or, you could deliberatly go black in the rears if you like that look. With your car, and being in PA, you're mostly going for look here, not sun protection? If that's the case, it better be dark enough to notice it's tinted, or it'll just be a waste.
I've rambled enough

in ohio our law is 50% on front windows so i did 35% on back 3 and 50% on front windows. That way if they pull me over i pass and it does not look bad at all.

PA's state law states that you cannot have any tinring, but Im not planning on going to dark, maybe a smoked on the sides and back of the car for the OEM look that other cars/trucks have.

I have 15% tint all around and it cost me about $185. They told me at the tint place that *any* tint I put on would be illegal in NY. 15% is plenty dark for me. I've only been messed with once and that was at an inspection check point where the Trooper told me to peel it off or else next time he'd write me....I just nodded and drove off.

I would get the darkest possible that your allowed to, and make sure that all the windows that you do tint are the same, I don't think it looks as good having for example darker tinting in the rear windows, I wouldd make sure thats its all the same. BTW, when they say 15%, 30%, does that mean that it allows that much light to pass through, or does it meen it blocks out that much light?

Depends on who you talk to... Everyone up here refers to those numbers as how much light it lets in. And it's ok to have darker tint on the back windows as opposed to the fronts, as long as the number is not too far off. Don't go 50 % on fronts then 5 % on backs, that wouldn't look good. I have 35% on the fronts and 20 % on the back and it looks great.

Good luck, glad you decided to go with 35% all round, and hope you don't have any cop issues.
Looking forward to the pics.

Wekk, I got my car back a few hours ago, the guy told me I cannot open my windows for about 3 days. There is also a lifetime warranty on the windows as well. I was somehwta happy with the outcome, there are some small bubbles and what not, he said that they should go away, but if they dont, I have to call him back. I dont have my digital camera with me since I went out of town until Sunday night. Im very impressed with the 35% tint, it looks bad ***. For the 175 dollars I paid it was worth it. I was alittle upset to find some scraps both big and small in my car. But hey, you get what you pay for.

Well thats the cheapest around here. He honestly did a good job, but its the small things that catch my attention. Ill give it a day to totally dry and see how it looks.

What kind of Tint are they using its $149-$155 at my place and they use 3M tinting solutions, I'm doing 20% all around though (25% is legal in Texas.. was like 35% not to long ago and the tint places still say thats the limit even though if i goto the TX website it shows 25%) I doubt a cop could notice the 5% difference I still have to pay for the tint with cash :Blasting_ now with paying in cash I wonder if they will give me there lifetime warrenty?

My car has 5% limo tint on the back window and back seat windows, and then the legal limit(for Utah) on the front driver/passenger windows at 50%.
Mine cost me $145 total.

Ill get some pics on Sunday.
INSIDEUS-Do you have any pics of your J2 with the tint, such a difference in the percentage of the tint would make me think it would look funny.

TX is 25% for front and any for back.. wonder if I should do limo for back and 20% for front?

I think limo is way to black for any car, 20-35 depending on the car is perfect IMO.

I guess :) I'v had my mind set on 20% all around for weeks now :)
