i guess this can go here since it has to do w/ audio. after having my mp3 player for a couple weeks now, i finally got around to doing something to hold it. for the last couple weeks, its been the wire coming out of the ash tray and just setting the mp3 player on the seat. well, i was doing some thinking at work, and though of a way to mount it. it took a couple hours of work, but it looks SO much better. i went out and got 2 different gauge sheet metals. one was 26 and one was 20 (i think). i used the thin one first caus it was easier to bend, and i figured if it didnt hold it enough, i could trace it onto the thicker stuff and spend a little more time bending it. i cut out the desired shape, bent the pieces, drilled some holes, and painted it flat black. its actualy held in by the 3 screws that hold the cd deck in, and just bent into place along the side and then into the position its in now. took a couple trys cutting the piece and then bending it. i also bent the bottom up and put some velcro on to keep it in place. cut a little notch for the wire to come out, and voila. i seriously am amazed it came out this good. jeff and mrhoaf can attest when i say if it doesnt bolt right up, i dont like to mess w/ it. this mod cost me about 15$ (including 2 difft size metal sheets), paint, and velcro and about 2-3 hours (again, first time doing it. needed some time to get it right)
also painted the antenna flat black, but you cant see it in pics caus its dark and looks silver. heres the pics of the mp3 player holder with and without the player on it. and it holds it well. its a little wobbly because i used the thin metal. maybe if i get motivated and this starts to lose shape ill redo it. for now, its fine
