installing a trailer light connector and need a ground. I read people using rear seat bolts. What about the trunk latch? Is that a good ground?

i wouldnt recommend using the trunk latch. i did that on my old car (91 integra) with an amp and i ended up blowing the alternator. if you want something closeby to the trunk latch, use something in that spare wheel indention. drill a hole and sand it down to bare metal, put that metal protectant on it, and then attach the ground. either that, or do what everyone else does and use that bolt (if you're not a fan of drilling)

I have wired a trailer light hookup, plus my amp and strobe lights to the body in separate places. OPn my amp, it is above the hole that goes into the interior of the car and the trailer wiring and strobe lights to the body below the tail light lens.

the ground i use for my second battery is located/bolted on the subframe next to the drip tube. passenger side rear. if you look behind the tire, up into the hidden areas, you will see the drip tube. there is a bolt that ties something together. remove the bolt, sand the area to a smooth metal and rebolt the ground there. there is a pic somewhere on this forum. its 7am and i dont have time to look. late for work....

Since I have no children, I used the bolts from the child seat brackets. Works perfect. :)
