Ok, Like I posted in my frying the system topic (boy am I full of energy today LOL) i'm in the process of installing my multigauge, and i got the voltmeter hooked up!~

In the last picture on the DIY, there is a picture of the gauges with the volt meter on but the other not. that's what my gauge looks like now with the car off.

BUT,
when I saw super's car at the meet, all 3 were off and when he started the car they all came to life.

how did super do differently?

I'm guessing he had the 12v hooked up to ignition, not constant, correct?
Where can I find this 12v only on ignition wire? :) (should I tap into it down by the cigarette lighter, since that's a 12v?)

I'd grab the 12v power source from either your radio or lighter socket since they dont work unless the car is on.

It is currently hooked up to the radio.
It's giving it to me as i've explained.

I'll take a look at it again i'll see what I can do but suggestions are still welcome.

There's 2 power sources going to the radio. One is 'always on' for memory of radio stations, etc. The other is switched off off the ignition key. My guess is you have the wrong one.

If you don't feel like fussing around to look for the correct one, just go with the cig lighter, as was mentioned above.

I actually have the 04 kenwood hooked up, and it's wireing harness adapter has what the wires do printed on the wire, and i had it pin 6 from the multigauge hooked up to audio 16, which according to the print on the wire, is CONSTANT 12v+

There is also a wire labeled POWER ANTENNA 12v+ I tried tapping into and I'm getting the same results.

Hmm.

EDIT: What's really weird is if I unplugg the multigauge completely, the volt gauge still stays around 13. weird.

YOU DON'T WANT "CONSTANT 12v+" you want the switched, or 'ignition' wire.

Ok, figured it out. turns out (if you read the DIY) on the wireing harness ADAPTER for the stereo has the red as checking for ignition and yellow as constant. So I accidentally wired that backward. Then when I was playing around with it I accidentally touched the 2 wires together and blew the 10a audio fuse. Oops!

Got the voltmeter working now. Thanks guys :)
