Was the AEM FIC you found new or used? If new, where on earth did you find it? (online store I hope). Before purchasing it, I'd ask some people (dmdicks (even though he said he left the forums, you can still get him on MSN or something (look at his sig for contact info.)), Midnitemotorsportz (Tom), and anyone else who seems to have a good knowledge of turbos (check the FI threads)) about how it works, personal experience, if that specific one you found is the REAL DEAL. The local tuner shop fixing my car said just to buy it alone it would cost about $1200, so if you can find it for $400, I might jump all over it. Lol.

$3800 seems too "cheap". Not sure if you've read about the triangle but pick two of these three, the 3rd you won't have:
    Fast, cheap, reliable.

You can make modes with it, so say you wanted to get best fuel economy, more power, a mix of both, or to "remove" your governer for racing, you can with the push of a button. The SMT6 only controls fuel managemnet, but is still limited by the stock ECU. Also, the AEM FIC fit ANY car, even if you were to get rid of your setup, it holds its value well, and ANYONE could use it. They just reset the unit to default settings and go from there. Awesome! If you get either NOS or a TC setup, I'd suggest doing the LSD mod, keep the power at the wheels to the ground. Less chance of breaking things, like an axle. Good luck.

Well, just to let you know, shops don't charge by how much PSI you want to run. An install is generally the same no matter how much you want to run...differences in cost come from the parts used themselves. So, for 9 psi, you could research a turbo that has a max of 15-20 psi that it can handle, spools quickly so you don't need to stomp on the gas every time you wanna feel boost, and puts out a moderate amount of power for what you're paying. NOS is the cheaper/easier way for instant power, but if you abuse it, you'll blow internals quicker than with a turbo. I'm not educated enough with either to suggest anything specifically. As for the SMT6, it's a great piggyback for sure, but it has limitations that later down the road will make you wish you had something that allowed you to control more of your car. The AEM FIC is the BEST on the market (that I know of) right now. It gives you FULL ACCESS to your car. It also costs upwards of $1,000.

Had a local shop install the rear sway bar. Didn't cost me much, but I get alot of work done by them. As for pics, I really dont have any...What you see is what I have. The car isn't finished, so not many pics to take. I would recommend finding a REPUTABLE tuner and having them build you a tubo setup from scrath. Since you have a manual tranny, they can find a clutch that would work with you as well. You'll pt out more HP, have a solid warranty (if they offer u one), all for the same cost as the Jattus kit, installations costs, headaches, and aftermarket clutch. Most tuners get warranties thorugh their suppliers, that's why they recommend certain ones. Since they get those warranties, they will back up the work they do on your car.

No. I'm using the SMT6 which came with preset maps. The tuner tuned it well enough for me to drive normally, but I can't really boost, because I risk breaking things/ruining my engine. I still do it occasionally, because it's addicting though.

Hey, nice ride. I am looking for a pillar pod for my 2002 elantra. Any ideas, i'd rather not use a universal

Well, first off, the car isn't tuned properly, so it still runs like stock, except now there's a turbo spooling and BOV noise. The SMT6 comes with the maps programmed on it stright from Jattus, so the tuners have only to load them up. Luckily for me, the tuner I'm taking it to, to fix the problems the first guy made, knows how to make his own maps through the SMT6 should I need him to. You do w/e you want to do with your car, but after this experience and the amount of money its costing me to get it fixed, I could've had a custom setup done at the local shop (same place I'm taking it to get fixed), with an engine rebuild, AND a tranny rebuild. Would've been pushing anywhere from 350-400whp on a DD elantra...haha. Once this is all fixed (and hoping nothing else breaks/falls off), this car will be a beast with the Jattus kit.
