The 2008 Sonata has the Theta engine which has a chain.
A belt is cheaper and quieter but has to be replaced every 60k miles.
A chain is more expensive, makes a little noise but will generally last the life of the engine.
yup....according to hyundai...along with the tensioners and guides(they are plastic and can wear down)
