I just got the car back from the shop because the fuel tank pressure sensor went bad. This morning the locks all worked perfectly fine, now after I got the car back the driver door lock won't lock or unlock with the rest of the doors. When I flip the driver door lock inside all the doors lock and unlock with it but pushing the keyless button this door does nothing. Its driving me nuts because it was fine literally 14hrs ago. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there anything I can do to fix it? Thank you

It's not the key fob, because no door would lock/unlock if it was not programmed correctly.

It is either the door lock, driver door unlock relay, or the ETACS. I would suspect a bad ground at the door lock switch, or unlock relay.

There is a door lock control module that has 2 relay inside of it (unlock/lock). It is located near the ETACS, its a small black box. However it should be good since your locks are locking and unlocking.

Check the door lock, and the unlock relay. There is a connector at the rear of the door near the door open lamp connector, check it for corrosion. I'm not sure where exactly that relay is, but it is in-between the door and ETACS. It's not in the fuse box.

So only the driver's door doesn't unlock with the remote or it does nothing at all? I didn't get that from:
the driver door lock won't lock or unlock with the rest of the doors. When I flip the driver door lock inside all the doors lock and unlock with it but pushing the keyless button this door does nothing.

Tricked, what I mean about that is, I sat in the car and pushed lock then unlock and physically watched the lock do nothing, not even make the noise as if it attempted to lock or unlock. I though it was possible the locking mechanism could be caught on something. When I lock or unlock the door from the inside the rest of the doors lock and unlock fine. Just the clicker is not making it work. Thanks for all your replies so far, to bad Im going away this weekend so I wont be able to work on this.

hahaha actually until i read your post I didn't even think about whether he did or didn't lol oops! its on the same fuse if he has one thats why I asked him that.

I forgot about this TSB from Hyundai

2001-03 ELANTRA CORROSION IN THE
FRONT DOOR WIRING CONNECTOR

This bulletin supersedes TSB# 03-90-009 to update the sealant information.
DESCRIPTION:
A water leak between the front outer panel and cowl panels may result in corrosion of
the front door wiring connector pins if the vehicle is operated in areas where road salt is
used. The corrosion may affect the operation of the electrical circuits in the door, such
as the speakers, power windows, etc.
To correct this condition, reseal the seams and inspect the door wiring connectors for
corrosion. If necessary, replace the door wiring connector and the door wiring by
following the service procedures described in this TSB.

This also may be an option for you.

I am going to my dealer saturday so I will ask them to remind me if they can or check our records and see what exactly they did to fix ours.

Do you know the location of it? It's not in the door, and not in the fuse box.

two things to check first,

#1 - see if your sunroof opens and closes. It is on the same fuse.

#2 - check #15 fuse in the passenger compartment fuse/junction block

if the sunroof opens and closes, and the #15 fuse is good then its your relay(should be located inside the door lock actuator assembly in the door) or your door lock control module (located behind your radio mounting location right behind the antenna plug its a small black box with a small plug in it and it should be mounted to the main IP frame) or it's the door actuator itself.

I had the dealer fix this so I am not 100% on what they did it's been a while, sorry. check those items and let us know. those items are the only things connected with the drivers door lock assembly curcuit from what I can remember.

I'd check the battery. Simple solution. Pop open the FOB and check the voltage on the battery or just replace it. Maybe the timing of the battery dying and the car going in for maintenance just coincided. I had mine go out in the Elantra and my Sentra FOB had one of the internal buttons on the board fall apart from so much use. It's easier to check that first than all of the other suggestions listed above.

Sorry I didnt get back to anyone in a while. I was on vacation. Thanks for all of your replies. I dont have a sunroof, and I am going to go back to the mechanic to have this problem looked at. I really hope its not corroded wires or connectors, that seems like it would be a lot of work to repair. I have to check the relay sometime this week to see if that is the issue. Is there a way to tell if the relay is bad?
